She currently co-directs and co-choreographs for Soulstice Belly Dance, a local belly dance troupe where the members share their ideas and perform regularly in New Mexico. She lives in Albuquerque New Mexico with her cat Sasha.
Maria recently returned from studying at the Middle Eastern Music and Dance Camp 2017 in Mendocino, California; so she has much new material to share!
Maria believes that dance is an expression of the music, which communicates the spirit of the people and cultures from which the music derives. She also believes dance is a celebration of life in all of its challenges and triumphs! She is honored to perform and teach, and is looking forward to sharing the joy of belly dancing with you!
