Elana had a slow start in her singing career. After frequenting karaoke venues she found her voice and the confidence to start auditioning for bands. One of her early ventures was as the lead singer of "Da Scrubz",which was later renamed "Big Sis & the Boom Bahs". The band played throughout the Westchester/Fairfield County area, including charitable events, such as Kids in Crisis at the Alive at Five stage in Stamford, CT. Since that time, she has freelanced with a number of bands most notably with Tyrone Shoelaces where she does backing vocals and is recorded on two of their albums.
Elana has performed at clubs and events across NJ, NY, MA and RI in addition to CT. She found her home with Ruby and the Diamond Kings in June of 2012. Her powerful voice and ability to bridge genres enables her to sing bluesy songs like Susan Tedeschi’s "It Hurt So Bad" to raw rock such as Zeppelin’s classic, “Rock N Roll” to touching ballads like Patsy Cline’s “Crazy”. Branching out to do more recording work with other artists, Elana is very comfortable in the studio, adding just the right amount of flavor to a song. Deciding to finally learn to play guitar in 2015, Elana now writes and plays her original music as well as uniquely delivered covers at various venues, accompanying herself. She has been asked to play at various venues including Devon Farmer's Market, Walnut Beach Festival Day, Stamford Artwalk and the Fair on the Green in Milford.
