Jesse’s journey of recovery began in 2005 when he was faced with multiple felony charges for his addiction to painkillers. With prison time being almost certain, he jumped head first into developing new routines and habits that would forever change his life. He began journaling, praying, and reading every day. He memorized affirmations to help him cope with his panic attacks and anxiety in his first year of recovery. He attended 12-step groups and got active. Doing the next right thing every day paid off. He avoided prison and continued seeking ways to enhance his recovery.
Jesse is now an entrepreneur in long-term recovery who is passionate about helping people overcome bad habits and live their best life. He’s a facilitator, speaker, coach, and mentor for people in recovery, and he graduated from Rivier University with his Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. He is the founder of Entrepreneurs in Recovery.
Jesse uses his training to facilitate change at recovery centers in his community. He has run multiple events sharing his story and facilitating participants using Appreciative Inquiry. Jesse uses this approach to naturally and rapidly help individuals and groups reconnect, uncover, and/or rediscover their innate strengths and to help them create a future vision from these strengths. Participants are then encouraged to write out actions they will take to make this future a reality.
Jesse's entrepreneurial journey began when he realized he wanted to pursue work that would align with his purpose and highest strengths. His passion for helping people in recovery reach their full potential and his love for personal transformation was the inspiration behind Entrepreneurs in Recovery.
