Passionate lyrics and powerful melodies define this hard rock quartet. Emotion at its most vulnerable and raw. The music of Down to One represents the broken heart of the outcast, the beaten down soul desperately looking for answers in an ever darkening world. This isn't shiny happy music...this is music that echoes the reality we live in. This is truth, wrapped in heavy guitar riffs and pounding drumbeats. This is Down to One.

Intense and energetic, engaging and honest
From out of the heart of Philadelphia comes a unique sound, raw with intensity, pure in beauty. Like a gentle sea breeze blowing over a demolition site or a single rose laid on a saw blade, Down to One is a melodic hard rock phenomenon.
In 2005 Down to One came out with their self-titled EP, a seven song effort that introduced the band to the local Philly market. Even though the EP was well received, most of the band saw it as an open door to take their music in a different direction. After a lineup change, they regrouped and began work on their first full length CD, ’Release’.
"Release" marked the emergence of a band that had come together and found their voice. Reviews were strong, and both public and internet radio took notice. "Just like most of our fans, we’ve been through a lot of garbage," says drummer Scott Schneider. "We just threw open the doors and let those experiences come through". Where others soften the edges, Down to One sharpens and uses the edge to cut deep to the heart of the matter. "We want our music to connect with people on a personal level," adds Kari.
Down to One is a band that has never been short on adversity and material to fuel their music. Since their inception, every step toward their goals has been a hard fought battle. Through it all they have become even more focused and determined, wearing their scars like battle trophies. As a result the music has become even more personal and intense, reflecting a maturing process that has affected their sound in dramatic ways.
They took to the road in ’06 and ’07, covering much of the East Coast with their energetic performances and earning fans at every stop. It wasn’t long before they drew interest from the music community.
Down to One latest recorded effort, a 3 song EP mixed by Skidd Mills (12 Stones, Theory of a Dead Man, Saliva), and mastered by Brad Blackwood (Evanescence, Fuel), is scheduled for release in May 2008.
