What to Expect
Most folks have to look at least twice to make sure it's not really Dolly Parton coming through the door or onstage! This look-alike can generate excitement, interest and fun immediately and offers a wide variety of options for the event planner or organization. Depending on the event, C.J. can pose for photos with guests, mingle with the crowd, emcee the evening, offer 'Dolly-oriented activities' such as singing karaoke with 'Dolly', 'Press conference' - (answering questions as 'Dolly,') tell stories about Dolly's life, career and more. She can even offer a 'team-building exercise' where you write a group song! She can bring tracks and perform live vocals for one song or many - or offer a short medly of Dolly's greatest hits in about 10 minutes. She can (with additional input from the client) write and perform a song about the organization, guest of honor or the event itself. Depending on the event, how many guests are expected, the location, time constraints, etc, she can put together a package which includes a combination of any of the above, offering not just music but an interactive presentation and humor. OR she can bring her guitar, a full band and perform a 90-minute show (with brief intermission) which includes stories and music from the legendary Tennessee songbird. She can also bring some of her impersonator friends and offer a 'Legends-type show' with other tribute artists. Given the public's obsession with celebrities, one of the most popular things C.J. does, along with her husband, an award-winning Jack Nicholson impersonator, is to offer an entertaining, informative, often hilarious motivational/keynote presentation called 'Double Trouble - The Life of a Celebrity Impersonator' which answers some of the many curious - and often personal - questions they are asked about their career choice. The two have written a book; Daily Doubles - Celebrity Impersonators, which features pictures, bios and interviews with nearly 40 of their friends in the business. The presentation itself begins with 'Dolly' performing a very brief musical medley then introduces 'Jack,' they then show a short clip from the Netflix film 'Just About Famous,' answer the questions they get asked most frequently and tell some of the funny stories that have happened to them, then interact with the audience, asking if anyone has ever been told they look like someone famous - or which famous person would they CHOOSE to look like? Their presentation can be tailored to the theme or the overall goal of the event but it is always tied in with their message to 'BE YOURSELF!' - (which sounds kind of funny coming from two people who make a living by being someone else!) This presentation does not have a 'canned' or scripted feel but is more conversational and informal in tone and they take questions from the audience if time allows. They will also make themselves available for photo ops afterward if desired.
An amazed "Why, we could be sisters!" was the first thing out of Dolly Parton's mouth upon meeting C.J. Morgan. Starting out in life as the keyboard player in a band with her brother and performing in college and high school stage productions, playing keyboards put C.J. through college and graduate school. She rec'd an undergraduate degree in Communication from the Univ. of Utah, interning at Sundance Film Festival/Institute and a Masters degree in Educational Psych. from the Univ. of TN. Even as she started her own business in corporate training & development, she still had her foot in the door as a performer. Only much later, after a head injury, did she enter the world of the tribute artist and begin impersonating one of her own musical idols, Dolly Parton. C.J. is a BMI-registered songwriter with deep roots in Tennessee but has traveled extensively in her career. She and her husband, a leading Jack Nicholson photo-double/impersonator, are the authors of 'Daily Doubles - Celebrity Impersonators,' available from Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other reputable book sellers. They are also popular speakers, offering an entertaining motivational presentation based upon the many questions they are asked concerning their unusual profession.
