Django Futuro is a vibrant group of musicians that draws you into the intoxicating music of vintage swing. Their unique style mixes the driving rhythm of Parisian gypsy swing of the 1940’s with world music flavours. Quickly growing a reputation across Toronto, their performances have been lauded by The Confidential Musical Theatre Project as “the best live music act I’ve experienced in a long time” and by fellow swing dancers as “face melting, button popping gypsy jazz.” They have been featured as a live band in the Classical Theatre Project’s sold-out productions of The 39 Steps at The Lower Ossington Theatre and ShakesBeer at Wychwood Barns.
Django Futuro is a talented and high-energy ensemble and are hands-down the best gypsy jazz-inspired group in town. Bravo!!
Our magical fundraising event started with classical music and ended with an hour of fabulous gypsy jazz provided by Django Futuro.
Django Futuro had a little something for everyone in our diverse audience. Toes were tapping, hips were swaying and many people just had to get up and dance!
The combination of voice, guitar, electric bass coupled with most excellent jazz viola and violin playing really puts this band at the top of list for any future events.
