I'm a DJ/producer/remixer/mashup artist/collector with extensive experience spinning sets for various event settings, whether solo or with a band. Experience includes an opening DJ set for GZA of Wu-Tang Clan, Pancakes & Booze Art Show and a plethora of weddings, fashion shows, sporting events and club/mobile events.
I had a 5069th birthday party for my husband. I was told to send a favorites songs list which I did 5-6 weeks in advance and nothing from the list was played. The speakers had a distorted sound when the volume was turned up a little and the microphone kept going in and out. The few key moment songs were played but not without bad timing and error. None of my guests danced because the music was not good but our grown children danced in order to show love for their dad. Although I am extremely disappointed I do wish this d.j well and hope he gets things in better order and do well in the future
Response from DJ Jazznosis:
I do admit there were issues with the sound, but mostly the wireless mics. All were tested before the event and all was fine. Things do happen beyond my control but I have made corrections since then. No issues were brought to me about it. It is unfair to say the music was not good as i was within your guidelines of old and new school R&B. Requests were played and people were dancing even to those weren't requested. And though there were some timing issues with the ceremony, it is unfair to accuse me of ruining it because I was following the agenda given by the client to where I knew the instructions better than she did. Ibdo appreciate the feedback as I am new to this area and this helps me improve for future events.

Originally from Chicago, I always collected music from childhood. But I didn't become a DJ until after 1997 building my skills, spinning for weddings and private parties. But after connecting with New York impresario, BJ Murray, I took off spinning club sets and concert after parties for George Clinton & The P-Funk All Stars and Madonna from 2000 to 2002. This includes a brief residency at the House of Blues Foundation Room. Bigger events came on the regular including being the official DJ for the Hospitality Games (or H-Games) for 6 years, Looptopia 2008 at Macy's and an opening DJ set for GZA/Genius of Wu-Tang Clan in Grinnell, IA. Notables include being selected in the Fusicology DJ Top 5 Of The Week in 11/8/2010 as well as Fusicology's Featured Podcast Of The Week for "Tribute 2 Black: The Best Of Amy Winehouse," "Featured DJ Of The Month" for Neo Soul Café in 8/2011and a featured mix for (link hidden) for "Abstrakt Konfuzion" in 12/2011.
I'm currently the DJ for Chicago hip hop band, The NocturnILL. I've also performed with artists, musicians and bands onstage such as The Dennis Keith Band, Myk'l Hanna, The Pale Figures, Kevin Max of DC Talk and Dan Peters of the West Sidewinders. I even produced local Chicago hip hop and R&B artists, but now more into remixing projects.

Sorry, but I don't limit myself to a song list. My library is very large and too diverse for that. I will mention that I spin hip hop, rock, soul, jazz, funk, disco, house, drum & bass, dubstep and trip hop.
