A fun and energetic singing piano player offering solo piano and/or full one man band sound. I serve all of southern california.
Dan Mudd is THE piano man to hire for your event!! I hired Dan for my boyfriend's 40th birthday party - it was a fun carnival style party which included two rooms-- one for an 80s cover band and one for a piano player-- we are so happy to have picked Dan to work the piano room -- he was awesome!
From start to finish he was amazing-- showed up early, great communication with both myself and our sound man, he was very accommodating to all our requests, and he was great with our guests -and just an overall amazing guy!
we will for sure be hiring him for any future events!
THANK YOU DAN for being AWESOME!!!
Response from Dan Mudd-Singing Pianoman:
Thank You for taking the time to review my services. Yes, your party was very special and a blast to play it! I look forward to the next one:) Cheers!
I can't say enough about how great Dan was for our event. He played and sang wonderfully and kept the audience engaged. We had people dancing, and everyone sang (off key of course). They all loved the selection of crooner, Elvis and Beatles music. I found out that Dan can play music from any generation even current music. I would strongly recommend Dan for any type of event!
I hired Dan as a surprise number in our anniversary celebration and briefed him that it is a Hawaiian motive. I was expecting for him to come in a colorful attire with lei fitting to a Hawaiian festivities. But unfortunately that did not happened. His music did not connect that much to the crowd because it's not those music that brings back memories of the past but rather unfamiliar to most of us. I left the party an hour earlier because I am very disappointed he did not meet my expectation of how he has dressed up for the occasion and much more of his selection of music pieces. Sorry Dan but you know very well that I still gave you more than enough in appreciation of your coming over. Maybe next time? ? ? that remains to be seen.
Response from Dan Mudd-Singing Pianoman:
I appreciate you taking time to post a review. However, it's important to be fair and accurate. I have a very long history of satisfied and happy customers. I have many repeat clients that will vouch for me and take my business very seriously! This client is an older Filipino man in his 80's and not clear thinking. For the record, I was dressed in a hawiian shirt and lei, as you had requested. A girl at the party gave me a lei as I arrived. I began playing very familiar songs as guests were finishing up with lunch(In the Mood, Girl from Ipanema, Fly me to the moon,That's Amoree', New York, New York, My Girl). Everyone knows these songs! I received robust applause after each song. The crowd was sitting and listening. Later, guests requested specific song titles(Todo, Todo, Staying Alive, Disco Inferno) to do planned dance steps and choreography. A majority of these songs were not in my repertoire. This issue was resolved by playing songs off of someone's iPod during my break. Problem solved. I played a few songs a bit later(YMCA was one they knew dance steps to). Specific song titles were never discussed prior to the event. And I had several conversations with this client prior to the event. It's the responsibility of the customer to review an entertainers' songlist prior to hiring. Also, I would have been more than happy to have prepared specific songs for the event if I had known these songs were needed. I later played another set which went very well, and even was requested to do an encore. Several guests complimented my playing and asked for my card as I was leaving. Everyone stayed for the whole time and had fun, except the person that wrote this review, he left mid way thru the party. He paid me before leaving, and even tipped me. I had no idea that this client was unhappy until I received this review. I have hundreds if not thousands of very happy customers out there(please see other reviews on gigmasters and gig salad). Thank You!
Dear Dan, Thank you for such a delightful evening! Our event was such a success and all our guests had a wonderful time. It was so nice to see them catching up with each other hearing some piano festive sound in the background. This certainly made the event even more magical. We truly appreciate you mingling with the guests as well as part of the family. It was very important for us to ensure that our evening was a reflection of who we are (inside out) so our guests feels at home and welcomed. You being there was not only a nice addition to our family and extended family but you also brought a warm and festive atmosphere to the party. You being able to play so many songs and sing along (even that one love request song dated 1940); Wow, that truly touched the heart of that young couple who requested this song in memoire of the recent passing of their Grand-father. What we loved the most was the diversity of style and your flexibility to accommodate our guests without having a program of event. It was sure nice to see everyone singing along, even those who were not born with this special talent… ;) In closing, you are a super nice (and patient) person as well. Thank you for making our first Christmas celebrations in the US a very memorable one! Chantal and Steve
We loved the music and was wonderful at our wedding! He played beautifully and we really enjoyed having him play at our wedding! We look forward to contracting Dan for any future events where we need a pianist!
Dan was very accommodating despite the fact that we changed the start time. He is very organized and detailed so that there is no miscommunication and that everything goes smoothly.
He arrived at the event when everybody is inside the ceremony room and was able to set-up in the dining room without the organizers being available to assist. When the ceremony is done he is ready and good to go. That was smooth! Thanks Dan!
This review is for dan Mudd I consider dan a fried. Dan stayed in touch for the 3 months before our event with e mails or phone calls. Dan arrived at the event ahead of schedule and set up his equipment. He required no help from the event staff or myself . Dan was impeccable dressed and ready to play at the scheduled time. Dan gas a great play list and his piano and vocal skills were a 10. Everyone at the party commented how great dan was. Feel free to emai me for a personnel recomendation This was Mary and my. 40th wedding anniversary party and dan played a big role in making it so memorable. Ed Lassak
I found Dan via Gigsalad and based on other client reviews I felt I had a good chance of it working out for us...but I kept my fingers crossed as I booked him sight unseen/unheard. Dan was communicative in the planning process and indulged my vision of playing Name-That-Tune in teams. We had so much fun! It was the highlight of the surprise party for my husband's 60th. The guests loved Dan so much that many asked for his business card and promised to book him for their future events. I wouldn't be surprised if they create events around the desire to book him! He is a super nice guy, talented, very presentable, and very agreeable. He appealed to the young, the old, and everyone in between. Thank you Dan. We sure enjoyed your talents!
Dan played piano at my twin sisters' 60th birthday dinner and made the evening so incredibly enjoyable and fun. Not only was he on time, but he raced to arrive 15 minutes early at my last minute request. He played for 2 hours, virtually non-stop, taking only a couple very short breaks. He played the piano beautifully and sang when it was appropriate. We could not resist singing along. Every song he played was perfect for the occasion and the crowd. He is a very kind and pleasant guy - so easy to have in our home. We will absolutely hire him again for future events and would highly recommend him.
I am just sooo glad I found Dan Mudd in gigsalad.com as a surprise for my husband's birthday party. He got not only great talents but all our guests loved him too with his very fun and friendly spirit! Dan's Professionalism is very dependable too. He was very organized even with our preparations, he's making sure everything is ironed out before the event. Few days before the party i had to adjust time and he was very accomodating. Until now our family and friends still compliment us for the great time they had having him played music and sing at the party.. Most importantly my hubby gave me 5 stars for this birthday surprise! He was very happy. Thank you Dan so much and we will definitely have you again.
Dan Mudd is a very professional Pianoman who plays and sings beautifully. Our clients really enjoyed him and he was very adaptable when asked to stay longer. We will certainly be calling him again for future events with our company. Thank you Dan!!
Dan was very accommodating, he adjusted his time for my party twice, when my guests had problem attending early. He does not have any problem playing with mixed cultural group, as my guest are! Beforehand, He said:"where going to have a blast!", and we did! the moment he started to play, the effect was sudden!. We were transported to the music hall, ballroom, disco, cabaret, bar, you name it! He carries a vast repertoire! And the best thing is; he's affordable! We had such a fun night, singing and dancing with him that everybody seem doesn't want to stop.
Dan recently played at my 50th Birthday party in San Diego. He was amazing! All of my guests were blown away! Very talented and great personality! His ability to play so many different types of music was very impressive. My friends are still talking about how much fun they had! Can't wait to have another party and book him again! Great job, Dan!
Dan was very professional and entertaining. He knows his music and was very amazing to watch and listen. Very impressed by his act. For our event, we had restored a 1900 upright grand piano and he played the antique the whole night. Made the whole night perfect. He was going up against a tough crowd and really got the people singing. I would hire him again.
We had Dan over for an Easter Holiday party and he got the party started right away. He was really great with everyone and truly engaging. He sang and played hits from several genres of music. What was also fantastic is that we had a lot of people (family and friends) over varying in age, and everyone got together and really enjoyed his company. REALLY AMAZING TALENT and above all, an AMAZING PERFORMER!! Don't think twice before booking Dan!
We threw a surprise christmas party for a friend and Dan was our entertainment for the evening. We had a BLAST! Dan got the party started as soon as he hit the ivories and the rest was history. People are still talking about how fun the party was. Thank you Dan for taking our element of 'surprise' to another level!
We became friends instantly and all you have to do is go to his website, AND BELIEVE EVERY WORD THAT IS WRITTEN ABOUT THIS REMARKABLE TALENT.

Tasty solo piano playing, audience participation sing-a-long
A fun and energetic singing piano player that offers both background Instrumental piano (Jazz standards, Pop songs, Movie themes, Showtunes, and Soft rock) to keep the conversation moving and/or a full one man piano band (drums, bass, piano, and vocal played by me) for dancing and full crowd participation sing-a-long (if desired). I bring my equipment if there isn't a piano available at your party. My portable piano/small sound system is of the highest quality, can fit in some of the tightest spots, and will also save you money.
