I’m an inspirational speaker who challenges conventional views on women in business and an industry renowned leader in the business of beauty and entertainment.
I lead by honesty, sometimes brutally. I instill trust in others because I avoid sugar coating, admit my own personal areas of weakness and share how I overcame them.
I share a woman’s perspective about being in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles for over 30 years surrounded by the prejudice, superior attitudes, corrupt practices, and napoleon complexes.
I discuss all of the challenges I have faced and how I overcame them to become a formidable business leader and subsequent mentor to those entering the industry.
Crystal Wright is absolutely necessary if you want someone who gets you unstuck. My experience with Crystal was extremely positive and productive. Her presentation at the industry event that I attended was very influential in changing the trajectory of my freelance business. Her style is relatable, articulate, thorough, inclusive, and influential. The ideas and concepts presented challenged the way people thought about their business and put people in a position where they could take their business to the next level.
Personally, because of her influence at the event, my business increased exponentially and now I am expanding my business model to be inclusive of developing the businesses of other people in my industry. Her thought provoking presentation, catapulted ideas that have me thinking about business in a revolutionary way. Her words, charismatic engagement with us and expert knowledge has left a positive impact on my colleagues that attended as well as myself.
When she presents to people, her engagement creates a game changing mindset.
Crystal provided myself and my staff of teachers with just what we needed to end the school year..motivation and practical application. She was personable and professional all at the same time. She was gentle, yet pushed us to go to the next level..personally and professionally.
Crystal Wright's presentation to Hart District Regional Occupational Program's 11th and 12th grade students was vibrant and engaging. Her "100% in 30 Days" message was powerful and her presentation style was "relatable". Students voted Crystal Wright "absolutely amazing". I highly recommend Crystal Wright as a speaker for youth groups.

I cannot think of anybody else who had inspired me to move forward in my career than Crystal.
I first met crystal at the NYC Makeup show on May 18th, 2009. I can still remember she was wearing white-yellow dress. She looked charming and professional, confident, and bright as a sun. She was easy to talk to, had a nice smile and easy to understand that I can comfortably ask any questions. She explained what the portfolio class was all about and I knew immediately I had to take her class. At that time I was at nowhere in my career and I didn’t know whom to turn to when it came to how to go further into the world of makeup industry.
In the “Packaging portfolio for Hair, Makeup and Fashion Styling” course in New York, I learned how to be successful in the entertainment business. For example, how to properly, and professionally present my work to your clients and how to handle your business whether you are freelancing or have contract with company. Crystal was patient, and answered any questions we had. She gave us the comfort and the permission to email or to make a phone call to her when we needed to.
There were so many times I was saved by Crystal, including the time where I was assisting an artist on a fashion show. I was a part of the small team, where rest of the artists had 6 years + experience, and I had less than 2 years. I was not able to help the artist as much as I wanted to since my pace was slow and I was too nervous to perform with all I had. The artist had to re-do what I had just done on the models. I felt like a useless tool and I wanted to just disappear when I was told to get pizza for the rest of the team. (All the artists were still working)
Then I called Crystal. I didn’t know who else to call! Although she was driving a car, she stopped the car for me to stay on the phone with me. She was there for me. She told me what I was able to do for the rest of the day. She cared for me and was there as a mentor and friend.
Now ironically I am personally assisting the artist I was working for on the day this incident happened, and I feel like it happened for a reason. Crystal is a successful mentor of thousands of students and I am proud of myself for the steps I took to take her class and buy her books. I would not be where I am if I hadn’t met Crystal. You will be surprised how many talented artists do not carry on simple actions and complain they do not move forward. I suggest any artists and stylists in all levels to invest in Crystal’s lass and books.
Crystal, thank you so much for what you do and what you are, and I am truly also your friend wherever you are and however you are.

I attended Crystal's Packaging Your Portfolio Workshop and read The Hair, Makeup & Fashion Styling Career Guide.
After taking the class and reading the book I was able to reevaluate and reorganize my professsional life and in doing so I began to have more success in my career. The only thing I was missing was that same sense of control in my personal life.
As if Crystal heard my thoughts she sent me and my business partner a copy of her new book 30 DAYS AT 100 PERCENT: CHANGING YOUR LIFE 30 DAYS AT A TIME.
After reading the book I put the tools that Crystal gave to work and I am experiencing life at 100 Percent. I am no longer late. I am organized and I no longer stumble over the same obstacles each day. Now that I have reached some of my goals I will set new ones and continue to strive to live each day at 100 Percent.
Hello Crystal: Here is the class feedback from the workshop, hope you enjoy reading them, feel free to utilized the quotes for whatever you'd like.

This is Allie, I attended your workshop back in August.
Thank you so much for your workshop! It truly changed my life!! After that weekend, I knew exactly what I wanted for my career and I knew what I had to do to get there!
I set up my Photocrew.com site. Since then, I have been testing with a lot of great photographers. I'm more confident on shoots because now I know what I need for my book and I know what makes a great photo!
I am super excited because I was just asked to do a shoot with a really amazing photographer! As soon as I get the pictures back, I am going to make my first comp card. I will send you one, and maybe you can give me some feedback before I start sending it out to agencies?
I also keep in mind everyday what you said about being 100%, and not giving away my power! Thank you so much for all your wonderful advise! You are truly inspiring and I feel very fortunate to have met you!
With My Best Wishes,
My name is Juliana and over the weekend at the Summit in Chicago I introduced myself to you explaining how inspired I am every time I hear you speak or I read something of yours.....
The first time I heard you speak was in New York City in March 2004 at the International Beauty Show. From that point forward I have learned SO much from the truth and authenticity that comes from the words you speak/write and I absolutely love that! I wanted to write and thank you for being open and in tune enough to receive the messages from a spiritual place and pass them along to others in order to help and be of service to your fellows. That is a special gift and it inspires me to want to keep giving to others as well! Also, your willingness to show up and teach while being sick definitely showed how dedicated you are to artists in the industry, so thank you!
I picked up a copy of 30 Days at 100 Percent and I started to read it on the train ride home back to Michigan. I took pieces of what I read into action the very next morning. I got up on Tuesday morning turned on the coffee, got my son to school and when I got home I remembered what you had written in your book about triggers. I put into action that day and today what you suggested, I did not check my email or open my computer until I had myself fully together with my shoes on, coffee in the belly, dressed and ready for the day even though I didn’t have anywhere to be. The next thing I know, I get a call to work and was able to leave the house in order to take care of a co-workers client because he didn’t show up that day. WOW! That and the fact I did not make excuses for being tired from my late night arrival was amazing to me. It made a world of difference to just get up and be ready for whatever my Higher Power had in store for me that morning! ! That was another huge Aha moment for me!
Many of my goals, dreams and aspirations were sparked over the weekend and I plan to take action in some areas of my life that I was not ready or willing to do before. It came full circle with me after participating in your session Monday morning. I now feel willing to be a participant in my life success as a professional makeup artist.
Since I arrived back in Michigan, I have been passing along my experience with your book and trying to spread the inspiration I found to others. I know two people who are planning on purchasing your book after reading bits of mine!
Considering the economic status of Michigan––a lot of Michigan folk are stressed. But I say to this down and out Economy––DON’T MESS WITH MY JOY! I believe it is such an opportunity for so many positive experiences if we are willing to change and grow during these times.
I feel blessed to have been able to attend the Chicago Artist Summit for so many reasons and quite a few stem from your involvement with the event. Keep on doing the deal lady and keep on inspiring. I wish you many blessings!!! THANK YOU!
Crystal Wright has been with the Downey Makeup Academy for one year now. I can tell you, without hesitation, she is one of the finest people I have ever met. Crystal routinely takes the time to help out those in need. In fact Crystal's presence in the classroom has impacted many students in the most positive ways. She is a great motivational speaker with great teaching skills. While Crystal's teaching skills are impeccable it is her strong ability to teach our students problem solving and leadership that makes her an asset to our school.
I would personally urge anyone to take advantage of the amazing workshops offered by Crystal Wright. Her workshop has given the Downey Makeup Academy a priceless advantage to any other Makeup school in the country. The Downey Makeup Academy graduates leave our school miles ahead of any other new makeup artists because of the knowledge they obtain from Crystal’s workshop.
Crystal Wright is the rare teacher that is able to transcend the position going beyond the normal requirements of a teacher, and improving those around her.
You will quickly realize that she is among the best in the teaching industry.

What to Expect
WHAT TO EXPECT
I’m an unconventional speaker who challenges old school views on women in business.
Leading by honesty, I instill trust in others because I avoid sugar coating, admit my own personal areas of weakness and share the challenges I faced and overcame to become a business leader, mentor and coach to those entering the industry.
I share a woman’s perspective about succeeding in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles for over 30 years surrounded by the prejudice, superior attitudes, male domination, and corrupt practices that are common but often hidden from view.
I recollect how my competence and confidence flourished as I conquered one challenge after another, how I gained personal strength through research when I did not understand a situation or concept and how this drove me to improve my leadership skills.
Often been described as slightly scary, intimidating, loud, and pushy. But when you’re fighting for success, unconventional wins the day. Everyone who found me initially scary, comes to realize that I am fiercely loyal, inclusive, a champion for fairness and integrity and the captain you want on your team. I never take the easy way out and I expect my audience to excel without excuses.
My Grandmother often said, if you want people to listen to you, get real quiet and they will lean in really close to hear what you have to say. Conversely, as loud, assertive, dominant and focused my audiences respond well to both of these personas and it keeps them on their toes.
Why people ask me to speak and share my experiences.
Because I know my subject inside and out. Because I’ve embraced opportunities to learn the business and I have hurdled the obstacles placed in my way over the last 30 years by the conventional establishment within the beauty and entertainment industry.
Initially I was excluded because I was a woman, unconnected, black, tall, imposing, and they didn’t take me seriously––much to their regret. Therefore, I was driven to employ tactics, strategies, cunning and female intuition to get an outcome that benefited my business, my team and my career.
I have stories to tell and lessons to share. When others speak, I listen, learn, absorb, process and utilize. When I speak people listen and gain wisdom, insight, courage and self-confidence from my hard-fought lessons.
How I can be used.
I talk about female empowerment in a modern world, reinvention, harnessing and reframing life events to get to the position or career you want and have dreamt of and how to excel in spite of your circumstances.
I enable my audience to remove their inhibitions, disable negative triggers, create a new life standard, and how to plan and execute a pathway to the achievement of their personal goals.
I help my audience eliminate excuses, stop deceiving themselves and embrace the truth of what’s holding them back. I teach them to stop giving their power away and start realizing their own magnificence and worth. They already have what it takes to be a success, they just need to harness it.
Yes, I am slightly fearsome when in full flow, but I am nurturing, approachable, humorous and genuinely care about the people who have trusted me to develop their careers and turn their lives around.
I instill confidence in those that need it, and I give courage to those who seek a better life.
“I get people Unstuck!,” says Crystal Wright, a successful author, mentor and personal development coach with 32 years’ experience of leadership within the beauty, fashion and photography industry.
She enhances and nurtures the development of artists who often struggle to achieve the business acumen needed to sustain their art and convert it into a rewarding and fulfilling business. She teaches them to be more disciplined, organized, brave and savvy negotiators.
Having managed beauty industry professionals, and small business owners for many years and knows the needs of both sides of the business. Crystal provides her clients with the tools, confidence and insider knowledge they need to take their game to the next level and fulfil the dreams they started with but often do not know how to achieve.
This calling resulted in her writing The Hair Makeup & Fashion Styling Career Guide which is often referred to as the Industry Bible and is now in its 7th edition.
As a recognized expert on the subject of career building within the beauty and entertainment industry she regularly speaks at trade shows and similar career enhancing events. She is also highly skilled at marketing an individual’s artistry, negotiating their fees, understanding the trends, predicting what is needed and networking within the most appropriate glam squad circles.
As a career coach she provides the tools necessary to succeed. She shares clinical but empathetic objectivity, personal guidance, and developmental accountability. “As a personal coach I dole out a healthy recipe of tough love, unambiguous expectation and decisiveness to help my clients get unstuck and on with their lives at a level they have always wanted to achieve but did not know how to get there.”
Her book 30 Days at 100 Percent: Changing Your Life 30 Days at a Time challenges the reader to identify the very best that they can be in 8 areas of their life by focusing on changing only one thing every 30 days but being mindful of the other areas that need honesty and attention. They start to take their power back in month one, gain momentum in month two, and begin to achieve again in month three. The process is enjoyable, reaps rewards and its participants extol its immediate and sustainable impact.

Hi I'm Mahogany and today is the first real day of the rest of my life. I only discovered Crystal Wright today while doing research into how I am going to make my new chosen field as a fashion stylist work.
Crystal Wright I have so much respect for you I see you're a believer and through that I am going to become an achiever.
I don't live in the USA but I am going to make it a priority that next year I will make it to one of your classses. This dream I've dream't, right now others are living, and since I'm the one who's been doing the dreaming and remaining in those dreams, I am going to wake myself up with your help––words of wisdom and encouragement.
Thank you for inspiring me
Hi Crystal! How are you?
This is Kim Schaffer one of the young ladies you met at the Chicago Summit. I want to say again how much I really enjoyed meeting you in person for the first time. I was so impressed to see just how down to earth you really are.
Also, thank you again for my business card critique and keeping it utterly too real with me on my business goals and business name. I'm happy to report that after much pondering and praying I am going to change it to be all inclusive for potential clients.
P.S. I purchased your book, 30 DAYS AT 100 PERECENT and I must say it's a God-send! Although I'm not finished reading it yet, it has really helped me put not only my career but my life in focus. It's seriously provokes inspiration!!!!
Makeup Artistry by Kim Schaffer
This is makeup artist, Angela Elliott, from Washington, DC. We met, in Chicago, at the Summit. I purchased your Packaging Your Portfolio Workshop DVD's. I am the woman who expressed an interest in Medical Makeup, if you recall.
I am so hyped about my research and development in my quest for success as a makeup artist.
Every since I heard your story about foregoing the apple martini, I took your advice on that one and I gave up the cosmopolitan in the evening.
Duh! I was insane and didn't realize it until that light bulb went off in your seminar in Chicago. In the last two weeks, I have been more productive and on point than I have been in quite some time. I feel I am on a fast track, however, it's the right track. I feel good about it.
Thank you Crystal Wright for you wit, wisdom, knowledge, recommendations and advise. And, for 30 DAYS AT 100 PERCENT. This has given me a breath of fresh air.
I am gaining momentum on living a powerful, purposeful life. My Chicago trip was well worth it.
You are worth it!
With Warm Regards,
