Cowbell Fever is a tribute to rock music from the 1970s. We perform in genuine '70s clothing with period-specific instruments and attention to detail in performing the songs. Our repertoire covers lighter to harder '70s rock with just a wee little disco, specialty numbers (think TV themes) and early punk mixed in. The group features (fictitious) members Peter "Whitesnake" McDixon, Donny Europa and J. Henry Moonchild, rocking with tight harmonies, auspicious licks and a little humor.
Price Range: $450-$1500
Gig Length: 45 - 180 minutes
BIO of Peter "Whitesnake" McDixon
ANNOUNCER. He is Cowbell Fever’s god of thunder. He’s proficient on 138 different instruments, making him virtually the Swiss Army knife of band members. A child musical prodigy turned Renaissance Man of Sonic Utter Bliss -- no, he isn’t Chuck Norris’ more handsome younger brother. He is the wit. The low-end grit. He is Peter “Whitesnake” McDixon.
ANNOUNCER. Why do they call you “Whitesnake?”
PETER. Isn’t it obvious?
ANNOUNCER. Uh… not really?
PETER. That’s a story for another day.
ANNOUNCER. So you’re a multi-instrumentalist?
PETER. I like to keep it simple though. Usually no more than three or four instruments at a time.
ANNOUNCER. On each album?
PETER. On each song, not counting singing at the same time, all during live performance. It really comes in handy to have two hands AND two feet at my disposal.
ANNOUNCER. Good Lord.
PETER. Did I tell you’ve I’ve finally mastered Tuvan throat singing?
ANNOUNCER. Tubal ligation huh what?
PETER. Tuvan throat singing. It took a couple of tries to get it right, but I can now sing with multiple pitches at the same time. It comes in really handy when we cover Bohemian Rhapsody. All those harmonies!
ANNOUNCER. There you have it. Top that Geddy Lee. Coming soon to a festival near you, Peter “Whitesnake” McDixon and Cowbell Fever!
BIO of J. Henry Moonchild
ANNOUNCER. Cowbell Fever is setting stages on fire, sometimes accidently, as the hottest 70s band around. Drummer J. Henry Moonchild spreads the Fever around like a runaway case of the flu. (various quick shots of Moonchild looking bored, spinning a stick, dropping it) Moonchild is a natural-born artiste and percussionist, a blue-blooded connoisseur of the subtle rhythmic arts.
MOONCHILD. (deadpan) I just like to hit shiny round things.
ANNOUNCER. With an impeccable sense of dynamics.
MOONCHILD. I prefer to hit everything very, very hard. No exceptions.
ANNOUNCER. And with incredible timing.
MOONCHILD. What time do you want me at the gig tomorrow? It was yesterday? My bad.
ANNOUNCER. The Moonchild is known for the passion he pours into every hit. Every stroke of the stick drips with emotion.
MOONCHILD. (closeup of Moonchild’s completely emotionless face, camera backs up to reveal he is playing an awesome, gigantic drum solo)
ANNOUNCER. He can be a little feisty at rehearsals.
MOONCHILD. The guys tell me what to play and, you know, I play it.
ANNOUNCER. But on stage or in the studio, the result is always pure Moonchild. Coming soon to a festival stage near you, J. Henry Moonchild and the rest of Cowbell Fever!
