A military veteran turned stand up comedian who is available to perform Comedy Clubs, Military Crowds, Church Functions, and Corporate Events with equal enthusiasm. Comedian Marvin Hunter, a must see!
I hired Marvin to perform a short set for my mother's 65th birthday party. From his first point of contact, until the end of his performance, Marvin was a consummate professional! He kept the lines of communication open, and asked questions about my mom's tastes and what was considered taboo for the audience. What's more, he DROVE ALL OF THE WAY FROM ATLANTA! My mother really appreciated that - and she FELT SPECIAL!
I cannot tell you how hysterically funny he was - all of my guests loved him! Those who never heard of him were instant fans by the time he was done..... and those who had heard of him, were excited when they learned he would be performing.
If you're ever in need of a comedian, I'm telling you....Marvin Hunter is your guy.
Thanks for making my mother's birthday party an outstanding event... I will never stop singing your praises!

When you book a Comedian Marvin Hunter show, you will get versatility. He can be abrasive and blue or work a clean church audience if required. You will get professionalism with southern charm and a straight forward/get to the point style of comedy. You will not forget him.
Marvin Hunter was born and reared in Vicksburg, MS, a city known as “The Red Carpet City of the South”, where Southern Hospitality is still alive and well. As an extremely curious and observant child who was an early opponent of political correctness his young opinions were given freely to adults (and almost anyone else who would listen), but were mostly returned to him just as freely at the end of a belt or switch! Butt whippings may have silenced him temporarily but they only reinforced his crusade to investigate and uncover hidden foolishness regardless of where it existed. He soon became widely known for exposing any and all forms of absurdities related to or involving family, friends, and all other facets of life.
By his teen years, Marvin had adopted his lifelong motto: “Don’t Knock Foolishness…It’s Nourishment for Funny!” and although not the class clown while growing up, he instead found himself being the catalyst of hilarious classroom debates and disruptions by asserting his unapologetically provocative points of view…much to the chagrin of most instructors. His antics always gave him a sense of accomplishment, purpose and even a secret amusement because he always believed that others may think it, but he is willing to actually SAY IT!
After high school Marvin took his knack being bold along with him during a brief stay in college where after just a few months he was informed that his unique talents were no longer needed. In 1990, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served 20yrs, 9days, 8hrs, & too many minutes. While in the military, he had the opportunity to travel to every corner of the globe while serving his country, but has also witnessed and documented his fair share of foolishness in the process! With that, the exposure of foolishness is exactly what he has been sharing across the country over the past 11 years served up with insightful intellect blended with Southern charm and delivered on a brazen platter.
Having traveled both internationally and throughout the United States, sharing the stage with the countless veteran comedians such as Rickey Smiley, Mike Epps, Nephew Tommy, Rodney Perry, Michael Blackston, Corey Holcomb, Aries Spears and Damon Williams to name a few, Marvin’s brilliant comedic aptitudes has earned him numerous awards. Among them are 2003 1st place winner of the All-Star Hawaii Comedy Competition in Honolulu, HI; 2008 1st place winner of the Charleston Comedy Festival Stand Up Competition in Charleston, SC; and 2010 Top 5 Finalist in the Nephew Tommy’s 50 Comics Deep Competition in Columbia, SC.
Marvin Hunter is indeed “The Onliest One Doing it Today” and is a bona fide must see!
