I am a classically trained percussionist who is available for private events, church services, weddings, etc. My strengths lie in mallets, but am trained in timpani, snare, and other percussion instruments as well! I also have some drum set experience if that is needed as well! I have been playing percussion for over ten years, having studied privately as a Classical Percussion minor with Dr. Christopher Norton at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. I also have drum corps/indoor percussion experience having marched Carolina Crown and STRYKE Percussion, and have taught Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, INFINITY World Percussion, and High Schools in Florida and Middle Tennessee.

Born and raised in South Florida, Alex began playing percussion in his eighth grade year at The King's Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida. The next four years of High School, percussion was a huge part of his life. He played in the percussion ensemble, wind symphony, and marching band at high school. On the weekends, during his Junior year, Alex performed in the Front Ensemble of the world class finalist Indoor Percussion Group: STRYKE Percussion. Throughout high school, Alex performed solos, percussion ensemble pieces, and developed his mallet technique and chops on the weekends with STRYKE. In 2013, he decided to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University to study Classical Percussion Music Education with Professor Owen Seward. His first semester, he honed some of the techniques and skills within percussion that were not as emphasized in high school, such as snare/timpani technique and playing within an orchestra. That semester he also was the soloist with the PBA Percussion Ensemble performing Mvt. 4 of Ney Rosauro's "Concerto for Marimba." In 2014, Alex transferred to Belmont University in Nashville, TN to study with the wonderfully talented Dr. Christopher Norton. Although Alex decided to switch majors to pursue a different vocation, music was ever-present in college studying privately with Dr. Norton, performing with the Percussion Ensemble and Wind Symphony, and playing percussion with groups around Belmont. Now, residing in Jacksonville, FL, Alex primarily plays percussion and sings at his church and college ministry he works for, but looks forward to performing percussion in any way possible, while also teaching with competitive marching groups when he is available!
It would be preferable if the event planner could provide larger percussion instruments such as marimbas, vibraphones, timpani, etc. I can bring a cajon w/attachments, djembe, drum set, and I can provide a marimba if the venue is in South Florida.
Depending on requirement: Mallet Instuments, Timpani, Orchestral Percussion Equipment
