What to Expect
Whether it is a solo violinist, duo, trio, or quartet, all performers are very experienced and classically trained to provide the highest quality of music.
I like to begin with classical suggestions for weddings and other events, but I am always open to requests (including modern popular selections). If I don't have a piece of music, I can get it or arrange it (for a modest fee)- I strive to be as flexible as possible!
I have everyone arrive 30 minutes early to each event to preserve everyone's peace of mind.
Generally, our standard attire is all black clothing, but other colors can be coordinated upon request.
Again, since I strive to be flexible, if you have a question don't hesitate to ask! I am always open to new ideas.
*I typically do not book musicians more than 6 months in advance of the event date (it can be difficult for people to commit any further in advance), but I am more flexible with solo violin events. Despite this, please feel free to inquire about a certain date! I will do my best to accommodate future requests.
*In the event of an emergency that precludes me from fulfilling a contracted event, an equivalent substitute musician will be provided.
Ms. Adams is an active soloist and chamber musician, having appeared in venues in Florida, Arkansas, Michigan, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Korea.
She has performed alongside University of South Florida professors Carolyn Stuart, Scott Kluksdahl, and John T. Posadas. In 2013, Ms. Adams was invited to participate in the Music from Salem festival, and performed alongside Bayla Keyes, Lila Brown, Matthias Naegele and Jonathan Miller. From (phone number hidden), Ms. Adams was the violinist of the USF President’s Trio, which was featured on WUSF Radio as a participant in Scott Kluksdahl and Carol Rodland’s concert, “If Music Be the Food,” that helped raise funds and food supplies for needy families in the Tampa area. Most recently, Ms. Adams was featured as part of the University of Michigan's New York Philharmonic Residency as an artist in the Side-by-Side concert, performing the Mendelssohn Octet with Frank Huang, Michelle Kim, Cynthia Phelps, and Carter Brey.
In addition to her passion for performing classical music, Ms. Adams has a great interest in other genres of music. She has worked with contemporary composers Augusta Read Thomas, David Del Tredici, Salvatore Sciarrino, Chihchun Chi-Sun Lee, Michael Timpson, and Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon. Ms. Adams has also appeared on stage with many popular artists, including the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Joe Walsh, Robin Zander, Michael Bublé, and the Ten Tenors.
In addition to frequently performing, Ms. Adams is a dedicated teacher. She was on staff at the Patel Conservatory in Tampa and Suzuki Strings Institue, Inc. in Brooksville, FL for two years, but has taught privately for ten years.
Ms. Adams holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of South Florida, a Master of Music in Performance from Boston University (with Bayla Keyes), and a Master of Music in Chamber Music from USF (with Carolyn Stuart). She recently graduated with her DMA from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Aaron Berofsky.
Additional Booking Notes
Any music provided would be strictly acoustic, so if you are planning a large event you may want to provide some amplification (microphones).
For all indoor events, we are fairly low maintenance! My fellow musicians and I would only require stable armless chairs for equipment (we would bring our own music stands).
Outdoor events come with a few requirements, simply for the protection of ourselves and our instruments:
-We require some sort of shelter overhead (this can be either a tent, or simply a part of an existing building that would protect us from direct contact with any rain or intense sunlight)
-Weather that would not permit us to perform outdoors: Rain, winds exceeding 20 mph, temperatures below 65 or above 90 degrees
An indoor "Plan B" is highly recommended, since nature is so unpredictable!
