Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Moya spent her childhood immersed in food, cooking with her mother, a renowned chef from Culinary Arts Academy in Switzerland. It was her mother, however, who suggested that she make a career of it. Moya taught herself to cook with the help of legendary illustrated manuals on Latin and Eropean cooking. At the age of 23, she graduated with honors at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Orlando, Florida
