If Charlie is available, you should book him without hesitation. I was looking for a singer/guitar player for a corporate holiday party to play a mix of covers and holiday songs. There are a lot of people out there to choose from, but Charlie's voice is second to none. His music and his sound are current and relevant. Watch his videos online... his cover of Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" is very reflective of how he sounds on pretty much any song he sings. At one point in the evening, he played Frosty The Snowman, and... wow... just a very cool and talented artist. It's no surprise that he was invited to audition on The Voice three times! He was very easy to work with... very responsive when quoting the gig, and very flexible and accommodating with his playlist. Charlie is working gigs as he tries to make the "big time". I have no doubt that we will see and hear him as a recording artist very soon. And how cool will it be someday to say "Charlie Millikin played our party before everyone knew who he was". Can't say enough good things about this guy. Thanks so much Charlie, and all the best!
I was looking for an acoustic artist to play cover songs at my casual, barn wedding reception and Charlie was perfect. He was super easy to work with, flexible and kept in communication with me as necessary right up until the day of the event. During the reception, he also coordinated the wedding events with the photographer.
The only request I made was to play "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran for our first dance and Charlie's rendition was seriously better than Eds! I left the set list entirely up to his expertise and my guests of all ages raved about his song choices. Charlie's version of the songs were even better than the originals and he put his own twist on everything he played .
Charlie is truly talented and made our reception a memorable event we will cherish for a lifetime.
Thank you Charlie!
We had Charlie at our corporate holiday party and he was excellent. Everyone loved his voice and music selection. I highly recommend hiring him for your next event.
My only complaint is that we didn't get to hear him more; our guests did, and they had nothing but positive things to say about him as well! We booked Charlie to play at our wedding and it was awesome. We have a few requests, he played them with ease. He was wasy to work with... super nice guy... couldn't ask for anything more! Thanks again!
I highly recommend Charlie for your event. He did an amazing job for my wedding proposal. I would not change anything. He personalized the requested songs and he delivered them in a way that was simply perfect.
Charlie played for our outside party and was fantastic! Everyone loved him and his music selection was really enjoyable!
Charlie was great - I was a bit nervous as we had never seem him perform but his vidoes on you tube looked impressive so we took the chance and it paid off. He took lots of requests and if someone asked for something he didn't know he knew just how to handle it with a good sense of humor , everyone was asking how we found him and I'm pretty sure he will be getting some other bookings - Thanks Charlie !
Charlie went above and beyond when it came to my wedding reception. He learned a specific song for my father/daughter dance, was very fun and energetic in making all of our announcements, and not to mention his raw talent is SO impressive. Nearly every guest at the reception commented on how incredible his performance was--one friend even said they might hire him for their wedding next year! If you want a versatile, caring, and talented musician to perform for you, you cannot find a better act than Charlie Millikin.
Charlie did such an awesome job. He was always professional and will keep the party going. He is a very talented young musician. He could play such a variety of songs. Everyone at the party was commenting on how good he was. Book Charlie for your next event!
I can't say enough about how much we and all of our guests enjoyed Charlie's music at our reception. We had an outdoor wedding and were looking for a musician who could play a variety of music an appeal to a wide age bracket. He has a soothing voice and a fantastic play list. We look forward to seeing him play soon. Definitely check him out, you won't be disappointed!
We hired Charlie for a corporate grand opening event and he provided the perfect back drop for our guests. He's a very talented musician and the music was perfect for an afternoon luncheon. Charlie showed up prepared and ready-to-go by the start of the event and brought his own equipment. Many guests asked for his name for future events. We would recommend Charlie for your future event!
Charlie is so talented and professional! He played for my daughter's graduation party which we set up outside like a coffee shop with sofas and lights strung through the trees. The entire evening was absolutely perfect and his song choices were excellent. His voice is wonderful and I play his music on youtube when I'm working.
Charlie Millikin has played a number of shows for us at DownTowne Listening Room, He has smooth sounding vocals and strums melodic acoustic rock. He is a crowd pleaser with a high level of creativity and professionalism.
Charlie played at our son's garden wedding and dinner reception. He has a fantastic voice. He has a wide repertoire of songs and is willing to learn any songs you request. He even sang some where over the rainbow with our grandchildren during the wedding ceremony .He responded to the needs of the crowd and kept everyone dancing. He did an outstanding job at the ceremony and reception. We had rave reviews from our friends. I can highly recommend Charlie to be your singer \guitarist for any occasion.
Charlie's work is extraordinary. He played at an artist's opening reception, and I could not have asked more perfect entertainment. The guests gave only positive feedback. Thank you, Charlie! I'd love to have you back.
Response from Charlie Millikin:
Thank you so much for the kind words, Monalisa!
What to Expect
All I need is a space to perform and an electrical 3-prong outlet. I bring everything else that I will need to perform :)
Born into a family of musicians, singers and songwriters, Charlie's unquenchable passion for great music and melodies seemed only natural. He grew up listening to Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, and The Doobie Brothers among others, so it’s no surprise that by the age of 6 he was singing and performing with his siblings for family and friends. It wasn't until high school though that he really got the bug, and flourished. At 18 he picked up the guitar and hasn't looked back, playing solo gigs while working and attending school.
Recent artist influences such as Gavin DeGraw, Ed Sheeran, Andy Grammar and Eminem inspired Charlie to concentrate on songwriting, and ultimately his first EP. His father, Bill, a producer, writer and musician who reached the billboard charts in the 80’s, produced Charlie’s 4 song self-titled debut. The sounds of the EP are a punchy combination of 2016 Pop and Soul, Hip Hop, Gospel, EDM, and Classic Singer/Songwriter.
In 2013, 2014 and 2016 Charlie was contacted by the producers of the TV show “The Voice” and invited to audition in Chicago, Dallas and Nashville. He also recently won “Best Original Pop Song” and “Best Original Singer/Songwriter Song” in the 2016 Ohio Music Awards AND the overall Grand Prize in the Songdoor 2016 International Songwriting Competition with his original song “Change Me”.
Charlie continues to grow as a performer, and now incorporates “looping” into his live shows. By looping he can accompany himself not only with acoustic guitar, he can also create a drum track, bass and other instruments, giving him a full band sound.
