This custom-created roast, using your stories and photos, is perfect for birthdays, and all special occasions. Our top-notch cut-ups will put together a personalized skewering of your "roastee" based on idiosynchrasies, anecdotes, weird habits, and fun photographs (the more embarrassing the better) that you will supply. The result is a THIS IS YOUR LIFE book that we present as a stand-up comedy routine replete with pictures (often hysterically photoshopped) in our accompanying powerpoint presentation. You get the crowd; we'll bring the rest to whatever room or venue your using. It's about a 25 minute performance.
Each roast is presented by comedian/artist/writer Charlie Hall (see bio).
Price Range: $350 (and up, depending on location)
Gig Length: 20 - 30 minutes
ABOUT CHARLIE HALL
In 2012, Charlie Hall was the first person inducted into the brand new RI Comedy Hall of Fame. His induction was the culmination of over 30 years of laugh-making through a variety of avenues including stand-up, writing, theater, and art. He is a true Renaissance man, and RI icon.
Charlie started his comedy career in the early 1980’s and quickly rose through the ranks to become a New England headliner. His clean, clever style lead to nat’l tv appearances on Star Search, the Joan Rivers Show, Evening at the Improv, Caroline’s Comedy Hour, America’s Funniest People, the MTV Half-Hour Comedy Hour, and many more.
His cleaner style of stand-up also made him a favorite for opening up for acts like Jerry Seinfeld, Chicago, Chicago, Natalie Cole, The Temptations, Sam Kinison, Frankie Valli, Reba McIntire, Charlie Daniels, Jon Stewart, Englebert Humperdink, Laura Branigan, and Natalie Cole. Actually Charlie has opened up for more headliners at the Warwick Musical Theater than any other person, ever.
In 1992, he put together a bunch of song parodies and skits that became the longest running show in the state’s history called the Ocean State Follies. He followed that with a Bay State version called Mass Hysteria! and co-created a local sketch show on NBC-10 called Rhode Bytes. For years Charlie ran the RI Comedy Festival, as well as booking and managing several comedy venues including RI’s first club, Periwinkles.
In 1993, 1997, and 1998 Rhode Island Monthly Magazine voted Ocean State Follies as the state's Best Comedy Show; in 1994, '95, and '96 the magazine voted Charlie as Rhode Island's Best Comedian.
This RISD grad is also an award-winning political cartoonist, TV News courtroom artist, and has completed numerous wall murals throughout New England. Charlie is also the publisher of 2 cartoon books on life and politics in RI called HOT SKETCH, and HOT SKETCH 2. On August 2, 2016, he debuted an adult coloring book called ELECTILE DYSFUNCTION featuring pictures, poetry and parody on the presidential election. After 5 days it became Amazon’s #1 bestseller of new releases in his category.
Now, If this all weren't enough, Charlie also penned the words for a song called "Rhode Island’s It For Me" that became the official state song of RI in 1995.
