I have been playing, competing, and performing on bagpipes for more than 10 years. I have piped weddings, funerals, parties, military ceremonies, graduations, and church services. I regularly compete and place in individual events and play with a competition level band. I have traveled nationally to take instruction from the top names in the bagpipe community. I am currently competing as a grade 3 piper and will be competing in Canada this year.
Chuck was outstanding, very prompt and receptive to our wishes. I know my mom weeded a bit from Heaven , watching her Irish send off.
Mr. Wright was great! Everyone at our event enjoyed listening to him. We would highly recommend him and would hire him again!
Charles was the perfect addition to our family St. Patrick's Day parade! He was quick with a quote and easy to plan details with because of his quick responses by e-mail and phone! His music was beautiful and just what we needed to cap off our event! Thank you, Charles, and we can't wait to work with you again! I would highly recommend!
If you are looking for a Bagpiper with outstanding musicianship, professionalism, customer-service orientation, friendliness, flexibility and a thorough pleasure to work with throughout the process.....you have found him! From my initial communication with Charles on GIGSalad, through my thanking him for his performance at my event - a Scottish-themed Engagement Party - he was a delight. I received many compliments on the bagpipe music they heard as they entered the party and the piece he played to "kick the party off!" If I ever have another event in which I need to hire a Bagpiper, I need look no further. Charles Wright will be my first choice! Thank you for making my event extra special by sharing your wonderful talents on the bagpipe!
Charles fulfilled my mother’s request to have a bagpiper play Amazing Grace at her memorial service. Awesome job, just awesome. Thank you very much again Charles.
Charles did an amazing job for us! The crowd loved him and we were very happy with the experience!

What to Expect
I can play in basically any conditions, outdoors or in. I would like some space and time to warm-up and get the pipes acclimated to the space before hand. The bagpipes are a double reeded instrument with four reeds to deal with. It's best if I can warm-up and tune in the temperature and humidity I will be performing in, but clients seem to like to use bagpipes as a surprise. If you want me to be a surprise please let me know in advance, and I will tune the pipes at home. I can accommodate most situations. Through my bagpipe journey I have played on a construction site, as a surprise for board members, and on stage before a rock show. The pipes are self contained, and in most settings do not require amplification.
Additional Booking Notes
The pipes and me personally are very flexible. For the most part I'm a self contained unit and would only need amplification for very large gigs.

Influences & Inspiration
I have had the opportunity to attend schools and workshops with the best in the industry, a few names would be Jimmy Bell, Willie McCallum, Jack Lee, and Brian Donaldson.
For the most part Bagpipes are loud enough on their own. If your gig requires amplification please mention this in your request and I can work with you on miking the pipes.
