14 yr old Carson Domey was diagnosed with a lifelong illness at age 8 with no cure, but has chosen to embrace the challenges of his disease, manage it, and then use it to help others. He chose to never allow Crohn’s to define him, instead, he continuously chooses to define it to make an impact in the world.
In the past 6 years Carson has raised over $1 million dollars sharing his story to help find cures, better treatments, and enhance the lives of patients. He has been invited to speak at many large events/fundraisers, and is also a prominent advocate for telemedicine on Beacon Hill. Carson aspires to be the President of the United States in 2044.
I have watched Carson grow over the past 3+ years as he has provided his compelling journey from infancy to the present. He is able to engage the audience from the moment he steps in front of any group and to say that the participants are listening intently is an under statement. He is poised, articulate, honest and humorous. He really convinces you that anything is possible. Grab the opportunity to have him motivate your audience. Note that Carson has been a speaker on multiple occasions.
Carson spoke at an orientation event for new residents and clinical fellows. He gave an engaging talk that had everyone paying full attention; he interwove personal experience, humor and graphics to describe what it is like to be an inpatient and what doctors should be thinking about when they are working with adolescent patients. The attendees noted that the presentation made an impact on them and that it would positively affect their practice.
I was fortunate enough to work together with Carson in putting together a video in which he was a featured speaker on telemedicine. He is an energetic, passionate and well-spoken speaker who can easily connect with audiences by telling his own story as a patient and advocate. He is educated on the issues, provides insight well beyond his years, and has a perspective you'd be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. I am looking forward to seeing Carson become a leading voice in the years to come and would recommend him to anyone!

Carson started at a young age for his love of government, politics and philanthropy. At age 14 he has accomplished more than many will over their entire lifespan.
Carson thru his fundraising efforts has successfully raised over a million dollars for Boston Children's Hospital and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Carson was diagnosed in 2011 with OFG and subsequently Crohn's Disease and refuses to allow his illness to define him, as he defines it. Carson's Crew mission statement is fairly simple yet bold and strong "WHEN LIFE HANDS YOU LEMONS, MAKE A DIFFERENCE!"
Making a difference is exactly what Carson does daily. Carson has testified in front of committees from the Massachusetts State Legislature 4 times in support of expanding the access to telemedicine. Carson has also met with many legislators in advocating for telemedicine. His passions for government is truly like none seen ever before. Carson aspires to one day be president of our great nation in 2044.
Carson is an extremely active teenager; always helping in any way possible pertaining to our country's Veterans, is a Cadet in Civil Air Patrol at the Goddard Cadet Squadron, involved in youth hockey and is oftentimes asked to be a guest speaker at many different fundraisers.
In his spare time he hosts a monthly live on air radio talk show called "Upbeat With Carson" which broadcasts from Ryan Seacrest Studio at Boston Children's Hospital and enjoys flying with family and friends.
