Dr. Feelgood has been turning on the world with his silky-smooth, soulful voice since 1970, the year he first started working as a DJ. And even though he soon became world-renowned in that field, his charisma, his good looks, and his love of singing soon brought him out into the spotlight - and all over the world, his audiences love him for it.
His fans have compared his sound to some of the greatest artists of all time - artists like Barry White, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Al Green, Ray Charles, and Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers, just to name a few. Dr. Feelgood has dazzled audiences throughout Europe as well as Australia and North America. He continues to charm audiences around the world with his charisma and gifted vocals. People love Dr. Feelgood everywhere he’s performed, no matter what type of audience, age or nationality.
But the show isn’t just about Dr. Feelgood. The doctor is rolling with topnotch musicians that are a show on their own. Mr. Magic, who looks like he came straight out of ZZ Top, plays keyboard (bass & drums) and digital horn, and is a rock-solid anchor for the group. Freddie McGyver is an old-school guitarist well skilled in solo and rhythm styles and is awesome on harmonica.
And you never know who else you might see with the group…. Medicine Man, an old colleague of Dr. Feelgood, often sits in, too. His keyboards are on a level with any professional out there. Guest guitarists have been known to drop jaws in the audience. Sometimes a guest drummer or bassist will show up in the mix. Together, the band will put on a show you will be glad you came to see.
And if they don’t make you get up and dance, check your pulse - you might be dead….
No audience is too large or too small for Dr. Feelgood. As he says, he would play in concert to 100,000 or in a telephone booth. Dr. Feelgood mostly plays authentic songs of his own, but he also sings breathtakingly beautiful remakes of classics like Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” and Otis Redding’s “The Dock of the Bay.” People love all of his songs, from blues to R & B, to country, to gospel, to funk, as well as his great dance songs, such as the “Wobble Wobble,” “Do the Hustle,” and “Party Time.”
Dr. Feelgood and the Posse are often seen at community events too, such as his repeated yearly appearances in support of the Cincinnati Heart Association Mini-Marathon, including a showcase presentation on Cincinnati's Fountain Square.
Dr. Feelgood and the Posse are available for events large or small. Lounges, Bars, Parties, Receptions, Fairs, Concerts, Shows, all are taken in stride.
