A Message from Founder - Gonca Huff
I started Blue Sky Strings because I wanted brides to experience better, richer quality of music than was available with other area groups. I picked some of the area's most talented musicians and put them together as quintets, quartets, trios, duos, and solos. I pick and organize the music, dress and conduct codes. Our groups look, act, and play as professionals. You do not have to worry about the music when you pick Blue Sky Strings. Just experience the BEAUTY.
Standard Options
String quintet (Violins, Viola, Cello, Bass)
Known for its powerful, full, rich sound. It provides the most versatility in terms of repertoire.
String quartet (Violins, Viola, Cello, Bass)
Known for its warm, rich sound, and creates the effect of a small orchestra that so many people love. It also provides versatility in terms of repertoire. It is our most requested ensemble.
String trio (Violins, Viola, Cello)
A wonderful option for a light, more transparent sound.
New Budget Options (Electric Options)
Electric Duo (Violin and Cello)
The duo can handle all of the music for your wedding. We work with you to pick the music for your wedding.
Electric solo (Violin or Cello)
A solo violin or cello does not generally handle all of the wedding music. It is used for one or two songs during the ceremony.
Our Commitment
Our goal is to perform exquisitely for your ceremony and have all the processions and entrances flow seamlessly with our music. Before your wedding day, we will help you select the music and personalize a program. On your wedding day, we will take care of all the visual cues with your wedding director beforehand and adjust the tempo/length of songs according to the pace of the processions.
In a typical ceremony, we will perform at these moments:
* Twenty minutes of prelude music before the ceremony as guests
are being seated
* Seating of mothers and grandmothers
* Processional of the wedding attendants
* The Bridal Processional
* Unity Candle/Communion/Reflection
* Recessional/exit music after the couple has been presented as
husband and wife
* A short postlude as guests are leaving the ceremony
For cocktail hour, reception or special events, we play a wide variety of music including light classical, opera, tango, and popular Broadway showtunes. Our music will create an upbeat and festive atmosphere for your celebration.
We will also gladly accompany singers whenever possible. A short 30 minute rehearsal just before the prelude music is necessary for this service. Please inquire for more details.
