Ben offers a variety of highly trained ensembles, catering specifically to the needs of the event. For background music he is available to perform as a solo musician, or as a duet/trio (with guitar, banjo, or mandolin). If your event calls for something with a little more pizzazz, Ben has a full band of top tier players at his disposal to deliver a high energy performance, complete with twin fiddles and exciting bluegrass and country vocal harmonies. In addition, if there is a specific musical selection you'd like to hear played at your function, please let Ben know ahead of time and the band will make every effort to meet your request. Whether you're looking for a quiet instrumental ensemble to enhance the environment of a garden party or wedding reception, or a high-powered fiddle band to dazzle and entertain your clients at a corporate event, Ben will work to provide you with the ensemble best suited to your needs.
Ben Sanders is a versatile performer, instrumentalist, producer, writer, and teacher who has lived and worked in Nashville, TN since 2006. Known primarily for his work on the fiddle and mandolin, he has had the opportunity to work with some of the finest artists in country, bluegrass, and old-time music today- including David Davis, Matt and Rachel Combs, The Sweetback Sisters, Brad Folk, Jay Unger & Molly Mason, David Long, Luke Richardson, Marty Hays, Roland White, Mandy Barnett, Mike Snider, Garrison Keillor, Nora Jane Struthers, Robert Montgomery, Alan Munde, Allison Brown, and Aly Bain.
In 2011, Ben was the first graduate from Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music with a degree in country, bluegrass, and old-time fiddle performance, under the direction of Matt Combs. He already has an array of accomplishments under his belt, including appearances on WSM’s “Grand Ole Opry”, Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion”, Mountain Stage, RFD-TV’s “Cumberland Highlanders Show”, and several state fiddle championship blue ribbons. Ben is also a seasoned educator. He’s been a featured instructor at Jay Ungar’s Ashokan Western & Swing Week, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and collaborated on lectures and presentations at Nashville’s Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Vanderbilt University, the Cheekwood Museum of Art, and other middle schools, high schools, and colleges across the country. When he’s not touring or teaching, Ben can be found hard at work in the studio, lending his skills to numerous recordings as producer, instrumentalist, and arranger.
