Beckoning is a band comprised of four young guys from two different church worship teams. We center our concerts around worship- some songs more rock based and some more mellow and worshipful in an effort to reach people of all types and age groups. All of what we do is with the goal of changing lives for all eternity through both music and testimony.
These guys led worship at our camp youth retreat all weekend and were great role models. They were easy to work with and came ready to rock.
We booked Beckoning for an event at our church and they were amazing! I spoke with them to give the band information about our event and our congregation. They came fully prepared with
an acoustical set up and play list which was spot-on-perfect! We can not thank them enough!

Beckoning offers a variety of atmospheres in their worship, from rock concert, to unplugged worship jam session. They understand their audience and establish the ideal atmosphere with the intent to bring anyone and everyone to Christ or to a closer relationship with him. They have many covers of popular contemporary Christian song for those who wish to worship to their favorite songs. They also have many original songs for those who want to experience new and local music. Along with worship through music, they add testimonies and speaking into their setlists; all with the hope and prayer to honor God and draw people toward him.
When Beckoning was finished performing the first set they had ever played in front of a live audience in March 2015, they were shocked and ecstatic at the offer to be an opening band for Christian artist, Colton Dixon. The man in charge of this concert who presented the offer said that he loved not only their eclectic Christian rock sound, but also the story that they had to tell, and the worshipful atmosphere that they established with their audience.
Beckoning is essentially a blend of two church worship teams in one band. In 2013, Clayton Baptist Church worship leader Patrick Buckner, (lead vocals, keyboard) and South Jersey Community Church worship leader, Casey Lee (vocals, rhythm guitarist) began playing music together because of their mutual interest in playing and writing music that honors and worships God. Within a year, they decided to ask their church band members Lane Simkins, (lead guitar) and Josh Ginchereau (drums) to join and they started what is now known as Beckoning.
The addition of Lane and Josh brought even more variety to the diverse sounds that Patrick and Casey originally had. Patrick brings a worshipful sound with melodious piano work, while Casey offers a southern rock flare in his vocals and strumming. With modern sounding lead riffs and melodic solos, Lane adds a modern pop rock style of lead guitar, while Josh offers a heavier style with alternative rock drumming. All these sounds together result in a variety of music which appeals to people of all age groups and lifestyles as they join in worship of one God. In May of 2015, the band released their debut studio album which is an EP called “Into the Morning.”
In the future, the band plans to follow wherever God leads. Beckoning has its sights set on expanding its fan base in and around the South Jersey area and even signing with a small to medium sized record label. Through all this, however, the one central desire that the band has is to honor God through music, lead his people into worship, and change lives for all eternity.
Beckoning is very flexible as far as available technology. They have used many existing sound systems at churches, venues, and coffee shops. But they also are capable of supplying a sound system if need be.
Beckoning uses:
a keyboard (intrument plugin)
an electric guitar (microphone plugin)
an acoustic guitar (instrument plugin)
a drum set (in most cases, just one microphone plugin)
3 vocal microphones
Beckoning adjusts their set lists for each event. They play songs such as Glorious Day by Casting Crowns, Call it Grace by Unspoken, Even So Come by Passion, and also play some of their own songs written from life experiences and their spiritual journeys. They also take requests for songs.
