Music has taken Alyssa Wang all across the world. She has played in venues internationally in Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Norway, and Spain. First place winner of the Pacific Musical Society competition and the Pittsburgh Concert Society competition, she has performed before many audiences and collaborated closely with renowned teachers such as Mark Fewer, Stephen Dunn, Peter Slowik, Pekka Kuusisto, Dora Schwartzberg, Stephen Clapp, Wei He, and many more. She was first violinist in the award winning Échappé String Quartet at the San Francisco Conservatory. She has served as concertmaster in orchestras such as the San Francisco Youth Symphony Orchestra, Berkeley Youth Orchestra, and worked under the baton of prestigious conductors such as Simon Rattle, Michael Tilson Thomas, Gerard Schwarz, Joseph Silverstein, Manfred Honeck, and more. Alyssa has attended numerous music festivals such as the Domaine Forget, Beethoven Institute, the Institute and Festival for Contemporary Performance, Music@Menlo, Valdres, and a study in Dalcroze Eurhythmics. Currently, she participates in a Pittsburgh music organization called Musicians with a Mission, which provides free concerts to underprivileged audiences. She especially enjoys exploring contemporary music and conducting. Alyssa studies with Andres Cardenas (Concertmaster, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, 1988-2010) at Carnegie Mellon as an undergraduate major in violin performance. In Pittsburgh she spends much of her free time playing for weddings, parties, dinners, and business events.
Additional Booking Notes
Alyssa will provide a music stand to all events, unless guaranteed one at the event. Unless any more unusual staging is required at the event, nothing else is required.
