The Brass Animals is a New Orleans-style brass band band that plays tracks by a range of artists, including Beyonce, Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill, and Snoop Dogg as well as older R&B hits by performers such as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock and Aaron Neville. We play private and corporate events, weddings, birthday parties, parades and festivals. Past corporate clients include Jack Daniels, Oakland Raiders, Genentech, city of Tiburon, SFZoo, and the San Jose Earthquakes.
SF Zoo was thrilled to have the Brass Animals perform two times during our summer concert series, Jungle Jams, at The Depot eatery. They were great with all the kids and their playlist had everyone grooving. We look forward to having them back to the Zoo very soon!
Brass Animals was great to work with and helped me to plan the flow of our Mardi Gras fundraising party. Ben was easy to connect with, and the band was on time to the event and they looked great. Everyone loved the music and the Second Line Parade! They got the guests on their feet and dancing, and I had many people ask about the band and where to find them.
Wanted to provide a 'surprise' for our students & faculty and have a little fun for Fat Tuesday at our high school. Just as classes were letting out for lunch, in comes the Brass Animals to lead a parade thru the halls to the dining hall where they continued to entertain thru the lunch. WOW.... such an awesome surprise and the students LOVED the event. They will be back!!!
This crew was great! On time, courteous, and professional I would recommend to a friend or book again!
The Brass Animals are simply one of the best bands you can hire in San Francisco. I have been a client multiple times for gigs here in the Bay Area but due to their rising popularity book them if you get a chance. One of my favorite things other than their music is the service and ease that comes in hiring them. If you a hiring a band in San Francisco the Brass Animals should be top of your list.
Response from Brass Animals:
Thanks DW! It was a pleasure working with you again.
I had the pleasure of booking Brass Animals for the opening of a pop-up shop in the Mission. From our first correspondence to the end of their set they were polite polished, professional...and most importantly...they were amazing musicians! I'd recommend them to anyone who is looking for a fun and unexpected addition to just about any event!
Response from Brass Animals:
Thanks J! We had a blast playing for you guys.
The Bay Area Brass Band performed for our monthly club BBQ/Summer Sailstice celebration. Not only did they provide our club members and staff with a great concert, they were professional, communicative and easy to work with. Additionally, having the Bay Area Brass Band on our event description certainly played a part in bringing almost 300 people to our BBQ. Their funky brass band arrangements of pop tunes were perfect for our clientele--we'll definitely have them back in the future!
What to Expect
The Brass Animals is a perfect fit for someone who's looking for top hip-hop/r&b tracks mixed with that unforgettable brass band sound. BABB can play anywhere from 45 minutes to 2.5 hours worth of hip-hop/r&b material. We can either use an existing PA, bring our own or play without one. Depending on set up, we typically will show up 60-75 minutes before the gig starts and leave right after.
The Brass Animals is the newest group to coalesce out of what’s rapidly becoming the Big Easy of the west coast. True to its roots, BABB started with a concept to combine the big brass sounds of New Orleans – like the legendary Soul Rebels, Rebirth Brass Band and Youngblood Brass band – and reinterpret classic tracks from your favorite hip-hop, R&B and jazz artists like Outkast, Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock and Tupac. This 8-piece group features a rich horn section with trombones, trumpet, sax, sousaphone, keys and percussion and is already making waves in the city with packed shows and private events at the Boom Boom Room, OCSC Sailing School, 50 Mason Social House, Bay to Breakers and more. If you’re looking to have your group's faces melted (musically), then look no further than the Bay Area Brass Band.
Additional Booking Notes
As long as we have a power source and can either stop by and take a look at the space before the gig or get pictures or video of the space, then we should be good to go. It will definitely speed up our load in and out times if you already have a PA set up.
