I am a photographer focusing on live musical portraiture and special event photography. I have worked with a vast array of world-renowned DJs, musicians, and various artists; capturing the spirit and energy of their performances as still image. My photos are very identifiable due to my unique stylistic approach that brings a vibrant surrealistic feel to my imagery.
I have worked with many music & arts festivals including but not limited to Electric Daisy Carnival NY, Camp Bisco, Electric Zoo, and Ozzfest. I am the a preferred photographer for DJ Times Magazine, American Music Press, Alternative Press, amongst others.
Oh, and I'd love to shoot your event! Music related or not! :)

I have worked with many music & arts festivals including but not limited to Electric Daisy Carnival NY, Camp Bisco, Electric Zoo, and Ozzfest. I am the a preferred photographer for DJ Times Magazine, American Music Press, Alternative Press, amongst others. I've photographed everyone from Slipknot to the Goo Goo Dolls and everything in between. I'd say that club events are my specialty (I'm great with tricky on-site lighting). Some venues I shoot for regularly include Webster Hall, Pacha, Marquee, the Highline Ballroom, the Electric Factory, and Soundgarden Hall.
The greatest challenge I face with performance portraiture is differentiating myself from the slew of competition in the marketplace (which I have become greatly successful at, in developing my own very unique style). When everyone else is zigging, I have to zag. I’ve spent years in the photo pit and wandering around events in my own little world behind my camera lens, not only snapping pictures – but studying the practices of competitors. Eventually, the best tactic I’ve come up with: be bold. If you have a brazen personality, show it in your work. The daring images will emerge as winners. With great risk comes great reward.
I provide on-site photography services as well as post processing services. You can expect that I arrive in a timely manner, with a backpack full of my camera-goodies and a smile on my face. I bring an array of lenses ranging from everything between a 10mm super-wide angle to a 200mm zoom. I shoot primarily with a Canon 7D (shoots HD video if necessary) and Canon L series lenses. While performers are my bread-and-butter, I also shoot a fair mix of crowd posed and candid photos. I am not limited to one line of work nor one style of event. I photograph people; people in their moment. No matter what that moment may be.
I include post-processing with my photo shoots, as this is what gives my work many elements of its unique appearance. You can expect vibrant, sharp, high tonal-contrast photos.
Ah, and I'm a fun one to have on-site! Not the least bit shy :)

Dave Hill is my biggest inspiration as a photographer. He inspired be to strive to incorporate his animated, surrealistic feel into non-studio situations. Also, Rukes is my biggest inspiration as an event photographer- the man is amazing.
