Ultimate story of a small town girl taking over the world. Ashley Corbett comes from a small fishing village in southeast Texas where the nearest grocery store was 30 miles from her home. After moving to New York for culinary college, she decided to finally pursue her curiosity and admiration for performance arts. She always told everyone that if she failed in the restaurant industry she would join the circus!
The first few months of her hoop education were self and youtube-instructed until she moved to Austin, Texas where she had the opportunity to learn and play with some of the most talented entrepreneurs in this growing 'industry.' In order to refine the basic skills of hoop dancing, Ashley took classes with Kim Patty, a performer, teacher and CPF in Austin. Simultaneously, she gained artistic and creative flair by attending "C.U.@ Circus" every Sunday. Through this community-driven circus group, Ashley had the opportunity to perform at festivals and fairs. She takes great pride in being able to say that she burnt alongside Tash Kouri and Sean Stogner of the magical Gyronauts and the unbelievably graceful Ciara Blossom of Spunlight Hoops.
Although just a hoop-newbie at that point in time, those experiences set a solid foundation for this hoop dancer now with three years under her belt. Ashley's charm and wit delivers interesting twists to complement and brighten any occasion.
As an added bonus, her 10 years in the hospitality/restaurant industry results in an optimistic, empathetic, and hard-working individual who takes all aspects and variables into consideration. Challenges are welcomed by Ashley Corbett and she finds joy in taking initiative when a problem arises and even more joy in taking care of people. This young woman's mindset is as strong and adaptive as her work ethic, offering a multidimensional, yet consistent, approach to the inevitable surprises in life.
