I am heavily influenced by my classical training, so you can expect to hear pieces with classical influences or songs from musicals. However, I do know quite a few pop covers that I have available to play for events.
In addition to the musical aspects of my services, I try to make my services as smooth as possible with a thorough yet easy to understand contract. I am prompt to arrive at events.
Ms. Goodwin is a graduate of James Madison University (JMU) where she received her Bachelors of Music degree in String Performance. During her time at JMU, she studied the violin under Diana LeGrand, and Dina Nesterenko. Additionally, she has had the opportunity to study under Rictor Noren, professor of violin and viola at the New England Conservatory, and members of the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Philadelphia International Music Festival (PIMF). PIMF orchestra rehearsals were conducted by renowned conductor Cristian Macelaru and chamber coachings were led by violist Renard Edwards.
Currently she is pursuing a Masters degree in Violin Performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in the studio of Kevin Lawrence. In addition to her studies, she is also serving with ArtistCorps, an outreach program dedicated to exposing the arts to children of low-income families, and teaching private violin lessons at Separk Music in Lewisville, North Carolina. Ms. Goodwin is striving to become a private teacher at the collegiate level.
As a classical violinist, I'm trained to be able to project my sound, so there shouldn't be any other equipment necessary.
However, due to the sensitive nature of my instrument, arrangements will be needed in case of less than ideal weather for outdoor events, either a tent or alternative location (for example if there's rain, too cold, too hot, etc.)
