I booked the Big Love Band for our Independence Day Celebration in Lewisville, NC. They played to a crowd of over 15,000 people at Shallowford Square. They are exceptionally talented and kept the crowd engaged the entire evening. People were dancing the entire time. They were a joy to work with from the beginning of the booking to the conclusion of the event. If you want a great dance band that offers variety and unsurpassed talent, this is the group to book. They played a great variety of music and amassed a huge new fan base in this area. I have already started making plans to book them here again next year. That says it all!
We had Big Love play at my sons wedding reception. They were great! They played a variety of music from fast to slow, old and new. Everyone raved about how good they were. We worked with John and he emceed the reception and did a fabulous job. He even did a special mix of songs for my son and I to dance to. John came out to the venue before hand to make sure where they needed to set up and worked with the wedding coordinator on when to be there. They were on time, set up, changed into formal attire, made the reception great and then tore down. It was so easy to work with them. I can't rave enough about this band! I would definitely recommend them for all your band needs!
Signed -- One Happy Momma!
My husband hired Big Love for my 50th Birthday Party. He had heard them live in the Raleigh area. I had not heard them live, but was willing to give them a chance based on my husband's recommendation. All I can say is "WOW"! Everyone at my BD Party had a blast with Big Love playing music from 5 decades. The dance floor was packed all night long and at the end of the gig, everyone was shouting "One more song"! Of course, they played one more song for us and rocked. John was great to work with on the details and each band member was so talented. We will recommend Big Love to everyone we know and also hiring them again for a summer party. I can't wait to party with them again!
We hired Big Love for our wedding reception. They are talented professionals who play a wide range of music and do it extremely well; they were nothing short of AMAZING! John was quick to respond to any and all questions or requests we had prior to the event; they learned our first dance song for us, as well as an additional song that had special meaning to us; they were there on time to get set up prior to the guest arriving; did a fabulous job MC-ing the evening; worked with us to come up with a playist; kept the party going!
The dance floor was packed all night, and EVERYONE (not exaggerating) raved about the band and wanted to know who they were. We'd hire Big Love again without reservation, and will continue to recommend them to anyone looking for a band.
We are so glad we booked Big Love for our event! They were all extremely friendly. They got all of our guests up on their feet & dancing, which is exactly what we wanted. We would highly recommend them!
We host a dance every year to raise money for a charity, and have always used the same cover band. When our previous band was booked, we worried about finding someone else good enough for a low enough price, since as it was a charity event we had a very small budget. The Capital City Groove Crew (now Big Love I do believe) was so easy to work with. They communicated quickly and effectively and were very willing to work with us on price since it was in fact for charity. While we still paid slightly more for the CCGC than our previous band, we were absolutely blown away by their performance and knew immediately is was worth the few extra dollars. Our 1000 or so guests had a fantastic time, and I continue to receive compliments on the entertainment. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone; they're great performers who played exactly what we asked (via their online pre-performance survey) as well as great people!
Capital City Groove Crew did a fantastic job as the band for our formal fundraising gala. The music and vocals were top-notch and they were a definite crowd-pleaser. They performed both dinner/cocktail music and dance/party music that blended perfectly into the various segments of our event. Professional & courteous from our first conversation regarding booking right up until final cleanup. No complaints from anyone at our event, all positive feedback- would recommend without a bit of hesitation.
I saw these guys play at a private party and what great energy. The music selection was great, and varied. I enjoyed the solos and crowd engagement. I would defininetly go to see them at any function.
Could've danced all night.
These guys are fun. They show up on time and play what you like. Definitely worth the money.
Great band! If you're feeling "dance-y" this band will keep you on your feet shakin' your booty, so wear some good shoes!! Love, love love the CCGC!
The band was great, they kept the dance floor full, they werent too loud, song selection was perfect and they were VERY easy to work with.
Not only was the music great, the band was engaging and energetic. Awesome evening! Can't wait to see them again!

What to Expect
* We play popular, recognizable music that you can dance to. We’re here to perform music that our audience knows and loves. Not some obscure covers that we may like.
* We have great awareness of our audience regarding what is working and what isn’t. Our goal is to keep the dance floor full all night long. If what we are playing is not achieving that goal then we’re able to change it up on the fly.
* We try to quickly flow from song to song…no awkward pauses between the music while the dance floor empties. A lot of times we’re able to blend songs together creating one big medley. Sometimes people ask us to take a break because they are tired from dancing!!
* We know when to stick a slow song in there so people that may not want to shake their booty can get out there and share a special moment with their significant other.
* We don’t take long breaks. At the most we will take 1 15 minute break per 1 hours of performing. Even when we do take a break, we stick around. No disappearing into the night for what seems to be hours. And if the party is particularly rockin, then we’ve been known to stay up there for 2 hour sets.
* We have great volume control. Something we hear nearly every gig is “..wow you guys weren’t too loud..we were able to have a conversation while you were playing without shouting!...”
* We appeal to a wide age group. There is something in our repertoire for everyone.
We are a 6 piece dance / party / variety band specializing in weddings and corporate functions. Our repertoire consists of popular, "dance-able" music spanning genre's and generations. We are experienced wedding performance professionals who will work with you to determine your needs, honor your wishes, and deliver a performance that delights all. Powered by strong lead female and male vocals, we're able to cover a wide variety of music...from Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole, to the most current hits by The Black Eye'd Peas and Beyonce'. Our sound reinforcement gear is top of the line which enables us to play at a very low volume, but yet still sound and perform well.
