Bob Hope's life in comedy is brought to life once again in this tribute act performed by William (Bill) Patrick Johnson. Bill will entertain your "troops" dressed in a tuxedo, classic "Bob" golf attire, or military fatigues similar to those worn by Mr. Hope as he brought a song and a smile to all those men and women in uniform defending our country.
In the act, Bill jokingly covers a wide range of Bob Hope's favorite topics, including our nation's Armed Forces, Washington D.C., the game of golf, and Hope's dear friend, Bing Crosby. The act can stand alone, or be tailored to an event or party.
With a career spanning over twenty-five years, Bill Johnson has forged his niche on stage, screen, and television as a dependable character actor.
Through the years, Bill has been "murdered" on CSI, portrayed Michael Imperioli's banker in High Roller: The Stu Unger Story as well as roles in films such as Ocean's 11, Scare Tactics, Larry the Cable Guy's Christmas Spectacular, and Three Days to Vegas starring Peter Falk.
Bill has also appeared on "True Beauty" Season 2 for ABC-TV, in addition to national commercials for American Credit Card Solutions, CPAP Care Club, Timeshares Only, and Santa Fe Salsa.
His Tribute Act to Bob Hope has played across the United States, Tokyo, Japan, and the island of Guam to rave reviews.
Bill's tribute to Mr. Hope was recently showcased in New Orleans, LA at "Experience the Victory," the grand opening of the National WWII Museum's expansion project- which included the premiere of the film "Beyond All Boundaries" in which Academy Award winning actor, Tom Hanks, served as Executive Producer. In the ceremony, Bill was honored to introduce NBC-TV broadcast journalist Tom Brokaw, and perform a brief moment of comedy with Mr. Hanks.
Other notable appearances include USO Galas in Tokyo, Japan, on the island of Guam, and stateside for USO Ft. Hood (which featured a live appearance by the legendary Wayne Newton), USO Hampton Roads and Central Virginia (in a large scale show produced by US Tours/SpecTAPular Partners), and in Seattle for USO Puget Sound Area. As an Emcee, Bill’s tribute has been featured at the 2012 edition of the 1940’s Ball in Boulder, CO, the Red River Valley Veterans Memorial in Paris, TX, "The Secret City Festival" in Oak Ridge, TN, the Woodlands Auditorium of Hot Springs Village, AR in “Welcome Home: A Tribute to the Veterans of Vietnam” for REMAX and the Hot Springs Village Voice Newspaper, the Church On The Move's (COTM)"USO Style Veterans Appreciation Show" in Roswell, NM, and "Hope In Your Heart-" the entertainment portion of the American Heart Association's 2012 Northeastern Maine Heart Ball, in Bangor, Maine.
He has also performed as "Bob" at Planet Hollywood & the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, ABC TV's The Next Best Thing, WGN TV's Santa Salutes the Stars, as well as corporate events for clients such as Staples, American Express, U.S. Tours, the Amway Achievers Celebration in San Diego aboard the USS Midway, The Yuba Sutter Chamber of Commerce 2012 Awards Gala at Beale AFB, the McDaniel Corp., the WPO Winter Getaway at the prestigious Sinatra Rancho Mirage Estate, and Emcee duties for the Delta Co. MI Chamber of Commerce Annual Recognition Awards, under the auspices of the Bonkerz Comedy Club organization.
Bill recently returned from another appearance at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans. This time, it was for the dedication of the US Freedom Pavilion- the Boeing Center. While there, Bill served as the Emcee for a recreation of Mr. Hope's USO show tour of the Russell Islands in August of 1944. This amazing show featured other impersonations of stage and screen icons such as, Francis Langford, Betty Grable, Carmen Miranda, Deanna Durbin, Judy Garland, and Mickey Rooney. The show will be presented again in Museum's performing arts venue, the Stage Door Canteen, in the Fall of 2013.
