I am a solo classical guitarist in the Chicago area. I hold an MM in Classical Guitar Performance and a BM in Music. During both years of graduate study under the instruction of renowned guitarist Stephen Aron, I was named 'Outstanding Graduate Student in Guitar'. I have also studied in masterclasses with many world-renowned guitarists. In addition to frequent nursing home bookings through my agent, I provide music for weddings, private parties, receptions, corporate functions, and many other events.

William became interested in the classical guitar while in high school, and let this interest grow into a passion through his time as a student at both Millikin University and the University of Akron. In 2012, he received 4th prize in the James Stroud Classical Guitar Competition in Akron, OH. William was also twice named Outstanding Graduate Student in Guitar at the University of Akron (2011 & 2012), and was the recipient of both the Guitar Excellence Award and Outstanding Guitarist Award from Millikin University in 2009. He has had the privilege of performing in masterclasses with the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Christopher Parkening, Benjamin Verdery, Matteo Mela & Lorenzo Micheli (SoloDuo), and Denis Azabagic, among others. His primary instructors in the past have been Stephen Aron, Manley Mallard, and Nathan Jackson.
As a classical guitarist, William provides live music for weddings, banquets, art shows, charity events, corporate functions, private parties, and more. The sound of the classical guitar creates a soothing musical atmosphere that is not disrupting to interactions between you and your guests, and the possibilities are endless with William’s vast array of musical selections. Expect an interesting variety throughout the night, during which you might hear a Baroque dance followed by a Beatles tune followed by a lively Spanish song. Music from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary periods are mixed among arrangements of jazz standards, popular tunes, and holiday music (if appropriate). A focus on a particular culture may also be requested (i.e. Spanish, Latin, Celtic).
“received rave reviews … I hope to have William return in the very near future; I know our patrons – and their friends who missed the first concert – will be thrilled”
– Public Relations and Development Officer, Oak Lawn Public Library
“He is clearly very talented. His music made for a gorgeous dinner setting though he is certainly concert worthy. Of course, most musicians who play background music deserve undivided attention!”
– Director of Program Services, Chestnut Square at the Glen
All that I require is a chair and access to an outlet.
