Tyler Hartley

Tyler Hartley began harp lessons at the age of six with Curtis graduate and Atlanta Opera harpist Susan Bennett Brady. She has also studied with Kathleen Bride at the Eastman School of Music, where she received the Eileen Malone Scholarship, and Elizabeth Hainen of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She is currently studying with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra harpist Elisabeth Remy-Johnson at Kennesaw State University.

Tyler currently plays with both the KSU Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble in over a dozen orchestral performances a year. In 2012, she performed the Rondo of the Boieldieu Harp Concerto as KSU’s Concerto Competition winner. In addition, she frequently freelances with local orchestras, wind ensembles, and choral groups, and has performed with the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, the North Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Tara Winds, the Athens Choral Society, the Atlanta Freedom Band, and the Atlanta Wind Symphony, amongst others. Tyler has served as principal harpist for the Gwinnett Ballet Theatre Orchestra since 2010. Tyler also enjoys playing chamber music, and has performed extensively as part of a flute, viola and harp trio for the past two years.

For the past three summers, Tyler has worked as a theory instructor and a counselor for the Young Artist’s Harp Seminar. Tyler continues to work closely with Susan Bennett Brady, receiving coaching and mentoring from her, and working as her Teaching Assistant. Tyler teaches private harp lessons on both lever and pedal harp to students to students of all ages.

Tyler also performs with flautist Cecilia Price as a flute and harp duo, and with violinist Ryan Gregory as a violin and harp duo.
