About
Trio Los Claveles Bio
My brother Daniel and I grew up in the small town of Patillas, PR. As kids we heard romatic boleros fron the Real Trio and Trio Los Claveles, the local bands. They were friends of our father and aroud Christmas time they would visit our home during traditional parrandas. We later learned to play guitar and performed at church. When we graduated from high school life took us in different directions until we reunited again in Syracuse NY in 2001. We again began to play together at parties and school events. In 2003 we joined with lead guitarist Ruben Rosado to form Trio Los Claveles in honor of the group we grew up listening to in the 60’s.
Trio Los Claveles is composed today by Lead singer, musical director and guitar Daniel Borges, singer and guitar Samuel Borges, lead guitar Anthony Santiago and we are ussually accompanied by percussionist Enrique Escalera. Our signature is romantic boleros in the style of Los Panchos and Los Condes. We have performed at the Noche Latina Gala in Syracuse, NYSABE event in Rochester, America’s Fair in Buffalo and countless restaurants and private events in the Central NY area. We have opened for stars such as Zafra Negra, Alejandro Jimenez and Paquito Guzman. Our main goal is to keep the romantic and traditional music alive.
