Birthday PartyThis band filled our house with some of the best blues music anywhere and really made the party perfect. Our friends raved about them. We didn't think our smallish house was large enough for a band, but they adapted perfectly by bringing a smaller combo and gave an outstanding performance that we all loved. People danced, talked and had a wonderful time. The Ted Vaughn Blues Band turned our party into a really memorable event!

Band Members

Ted Vaughn - Vocals and Blues Harp : Ted was born and raised in Texas and was heavily influenced by the blues sounds of "Lightnin' Hopkins", "Howlin' Wolf", his namesake, Stevie Ray Vaughan as well as country artists such as Waylon Jennings. Ted formed a friendship with the late Texas bluesman Willie Willis (The Wildcatters) and studied technique on the harmonica from such notable players as Charlie Musselwhite, Sam Meyers (Anson Funderburg and the Rockets) and James Harman.

Clay "Bone" King - Guitars and Vocals: Clay was raised in Southern California where he found a love for the guitar and studied jazz with Warne Marsh, sax player for Charlie Parker. He also studied under jass virtuoso Joe Pass and Jimmy Wyble (Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys). He has shared stages with many of the worlds finest musicians including Doug MacLeod and Corey Stevens. His musical influences include Albert King, Lightnin' Hopkins and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He continues to be one of the most in demand guitarists on the West coast and his performances with "The Ted Vaughn Blues Band" leave audiences spellbound.

Leon Forrest - Keyboards and Vocals: Loen formed his first band, "The Apollos" in the early 1960's. The band backed up national acts and rubbed shoulders with performers such as "The Yardbirds" and Janis Joplin. They often shared venues with "The Golliwogs" who later became "Creedence Clearwater Revival". Later, Leon formed the band "Firewind" which caught the attention of Gabriel Mekler, producer of "Three Dog Night" and "Steppenwolf". Today, Leon makes music from Seattle to Nashville and also wears the hat of producer, engineer, studio musician and top dog at Harbinger Northwest Records.

Ted Larson- Bass Guitar and Vocals: One of the most visable and experienced bass players on the West coast, Ted's major claim to fame comes from being an opening act for a band called "The New Breed". " The New Breed" featured a young Timothy B. Schmidt , a founding member of "The Eagles". Ted is a dynamic singer and performer in his own right and has performed and recorded with some of the West coasts top bands.

John King - Drums: John attended the Musicians Institute of Technology and performed with several top L.A. bands including "The L.A. Big Band". He has played and recorded with many top Pacific Northwest groups including Mik Gobel and Gobel Warming. He lays down a mean groove, be it rock , blues, funk or country .
