I hired Jimmy H to perform a surprise private show for my girlfriend's 30th birthday at the Magic Castle. In searching for the right act, I blindly contacted multiple magicians to see which would have the best talents for the presentation, and learned that professionalism isn't one of the basic tenets of magicians. Many were slow to respond or didn't respond at all, even after emailing 2-3 times, didn't answer my questions when they finally did respond, some were outright rude/bordering on disrespectful, some were pushy and condescending, and some were asking for unreasonable fees (thinking they're Lance Burton or something).

Jimmy H was in a class of his own - he provided prompt, detailed responses and professional service the way that a potential client should expect. This was the first time I've ever booked a magic act, so I was completely ignorant about the whole process. Jimmy was gracious enough to walk me through it from start to finish and explain how he envisioned the performance to be. I had very particular ideas in mind for the performance (presenting her bday gift through a magic trick), and Jimmy was able to work with me to develop a set that worked for both of us - something with his personal signature style that incorporated some of my ideas for the overall performance/surprise.

I'm a bit of a perfectionist (Jimmy can tell you all about it), so I probably gave him a hard time about making sure the show went PERFECTLY. I didn't need to. After the show, all my anxieties and worries were washed away and replaced with a huge sense of relief and a big smile. Though I helped plan part of the show, the act was still very exciting, surprising, and mystifying in its presentation. He mixed comedy acts with great magic, and lots of audience participation. My friends loved it and had a blast - a bunch of 25-30 year-olds laughing and behaving like children. Most importantly, my girlfriend had no idea what was coming, and was blown away by the presentation of the gift.

But even before the date of the performance, Jimmy H impressed me with his professional demeanor and personable attitude. Before committing to anything, he invited me to meet with him at the Magic Castle to discuss ideas and to show me a sample from his repertoire. Some other things I'd like to mention are that he's always on time and was very good about responding to my lengthy, detailed emails and excessive questions. What I found of particular note was that instead of responding via email, he would call me and answer all of my questions in a more personal way - that's something you don't see very often.

So if you're looking for a solid comedy/magic act for your next event, look no further. Jimmy H has the talents/character/professionalism that will not only make it a great event, but make it an EASY event to plan too.

Jimmy H amazed my students!

I booked Jimmy H for our class's End of the Year Class Party. He blew my fifth graders minds away with his magic! He walked around and did cards tricks for the students and parents. The kids mouths were on the floor with astonishment, and the parents kept saying, "How did he do that?"
Jimmy H then put on a show for the students and performed some great tricks! The performance was great because he used humor, along with his magic tricks that the kids really connected with! I would recommend Jimmy H for any event!

The Majic of Jimmy H - My daughters 12th Birthday

I hired Jimmy H for my daughters 12 Birthday Party, because she loved Criss Angel and Magic.
I was referred many many magicians from an online site. I went with Jimmy and was not disappointed. He was professional, on time, fun and a BIG HIT to the kids, as well as the Adults! Something for everyone! We had a blast!! Everyone was asking where I got him. Not only was he great, but a few days later we were surprised to see a package in the mail with a framed picture of my daughter and him and another gift for my daughter!! How wonderful was that? We were blown away at how nice he is as well as an outstanding Magician. Thank You Jimmy! We highly recommend him.

Jimmy, thank you for the entertainment. To those reading this review, we had 25 guests at my daughter's birthday party from 5-70 years old, and 2 of the kids were special needs. Jimmy kept everybody captivated from the beginning. He was funny, entertaining, and ridiculously talented. Parents ended up coming to me and asking how to get a hold of Jimmy for their party. Jimmy was a hit at the party.An 80th birthday party with 97 guest. Jimmy did strolling magic and with that many people he was really busy. He was great with every one. I have had many calls from guests to let me know how much they enjoyed his magic. Jimmy has a great talent, personality and smile. I look forward to seeing him and his magic again soon.

Let me start by saying you CAN'T go wrong with hiring Jimmy H! He performed at our daughter's birthday party and had everyone (age 1 - 60) entertained, laughing and captivated with his magic and humor.
He has become one of my all-time favorite performers in any genre and I know he will be even more successful one day than he is now.
