TeKana Hau Nui Dancers(tm) offers an exciting tour of the pacific islands through beautiful music, authentic costumes and exciting hula, Tahitian, and Maori Poi Ball dancing. We are available for live performances, workshops, classes, boot camp training and more. If you cannot attend our bootcamp, then gather your friends and I will bring the bootcamp to you.
About
Producer/Director, Mrs. Kerry Holyoak is a professional hula and Tahitian dancer from the island of Saipan in Micronesia. She started dancing over 20 years ago where she performed in events such as the Lotus Festival and many others. Her training is greatly influenced by her Annie Kay of Tahiti, and the music and style of Fenua of Tahiti.
TeKana Hau Nui Dancers(tm) offer a full 45-minute show with the option of adding up to three separate 15-minute segments for audience interaction. We specialize in audience interaction and creating a memorable island experience for your guests. We have over 20 dancers on our roster and can scale a production to meet any type of event from a large corporate event or outdoor festival, down to a small private party, and everything in between.
Our base fee of $750 per show will cover most clients within a 200-mile radius of Fredonia, Kansas. Clients pay for travel expenses which include mileage, food & lodging. We typically travel to gigs by car and charge 0.75 cents per mile.

TeKana Hau Nui Dancers(tm) was formally organized in May 2011 and has already booked more than two dozen gigs. Kerry Holyoak, is from the island of Saipan, and has over 20 years of experience as a polynesian dancer.
What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 20 - 90 minutes
TeKana Hau Nui Dancers(tm) is easy to work with. We are reliable, organized and try to provide a wonderful and easy experience for all of our clients. We offer a full production show and will arrive at your venue with all of our gear including sound system, portable 10x10 dressing room and 10x10 island sunset backdrop which is the backdrop for our staging area. It also can serve as a great backdrop for photos with your party guests, either with or without costumed performers. We can offer polynesian music playlists as background music for the duration of your event, to be played before and after the show. Our costumed dancers can provide a lei greeting for your guests (you provide the leis). Our typical show will consist of approximately 12 to 14 dances, with 5 costume changes and up to 3 separate audience interaction segments. We specialize in audience interaction and can ensure that you and your guests will have a great time.
Additional Notes:
Our equipment requires access to at least 40 amps of power within 25 feet of the staging area. This may be accomplished by using 2 standard commercial 20 amp circuits. All circuits must be free of any other draw (i.e., nothing else on circuits). At festivals and public access events we reserve the right to sell promotional materials such as program DVDs, t-shirts, hats, etc.
