Dana is a dedicated musician & recording artist with over 25 years of performing experience & six albums released to date.
Dana Starkell is a professional classical guitarist based out of the Quad Cities. Dana is available for all occasions in the midwest including the surrounding areas of CHICAGO, ST. LOUIS, MEMPHIS, MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL, DES MOINES, and IOWA CITY. Dana has performed throughout the midwest including a variety of venues in San Diego, Dallas, Houston, & Austin, TX. Dana began his solo career while undertaking a world record 12,000 mile canoe trip from Canada to Brazil. During a break in Port of Spain, he was befriended by Philip Keiler (a student of New York guitarist, Alice Artz). This friendship led to Dana's first formal concert at The University of the West Indies in Trinidad. After returning from South America, Dana won the Senior Classical Guitar category of the Manitoba Music Festival in 1983. Since that time, he has attended master classes held by world renowned classical guitarist Christopher Parkening, and taken lessons from John Sutherland, David Brandon, and Norbert Kraft.
Dana has performed extensively in classical, renaissance, spanish, and baroque styles since 1982. Having released six classical guitar albums, he has a wide selection of music to compliment your event, large or small. Dana has a great passion for music and you will appreciate his prompt and professional service.
