About

I am a solo entertainer with a wide variety of music and instrumentals. I sing, play electric guitar and mouth organ.

I use general midi backing arrangements that I have either completely created myself using PC sequencing software, or purchased arrangements with performance rights that I have modified and augmented.

I like to play parties, restaurants, wineries and small clubs.

Some time ago I played 3 nights per week 9-1am in a restaurant. This year I have been focusing on coffee shops and parties and have played quite a few.

I can provide up to 5 hours (five 45min sets) customized as desired from the song list.

I arrive 30-60 mins before start time and I can be out in 15 minutes at the end. There are several examples of starbirdla on you tube.

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 120 - 300 minutes

A wide variety of songs/styles from 60s-90s. My real time vocal harmonizer allows me to perform as if I had harmony singers with me. Always surprises audiences on choruses and especially the octave drop I use on Leonard Cohen songs.


I am happy to tailor my repertoire to suit the venue, quiet and mellow for coffee shops/restaurants, noisy for bars, or a mix for parties. All the arrangements are customized or built by me, especially the drum work. Many arrangements I sequenced from scratch.


I bring a 4 channel PA, with speakers/stands, guitar amp and pedals, guitar and a Korg keyboard and monitor. Setup takes 30 mins including sound check. I can pack and be gone in 15mins. I can play 30 to 45 minute customized sets as desired - up to 5 hours with no repeats if necessary!


Audiences might get up and dance to Gypsy Kings' Bamboleo or Volare, or sip their wine to a mellow Imagine or Careless Whisper. I also can provide tear-off song requests from my repertoire for the audience to "build their own" song list.


I am professional, mature, reliable and experienced.
