About

Soul Purpose is an extended family quartet based out of Grove City, Ohio with a traditional southern gospel sound. Their ministry began in 1972 under the name The Sounds of Joy and in 1995 they began a fresh start under their current name. The name just seemed to fit as the group is committed to reaching souls for Christ. “Your Soul is our Purpose!”

It doesn't take long to realize this group LOVES the Lord as their songs convey the joy and excitement of knowing Jesus. “Our Lord has called us to go and tell the world the Good News. We happen to think it is GREAT news! We are honored to be doing our part for the Kingdom by showing others through the songs we sing and personal testimonies we share that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life! Our desire is to encourage a lost and dying world to accept the free gift of salvation offered through the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Soul Purpose has carried the Gospel to numerous churches, conventions and arts festivals in Ohio and surrounding states including the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY, Ohio State Convention of Baptists, and Northern Gospel Singing Convention. Soul Purpose continues to be in demand and was even recently chosen as the "Featured Group" on the popular TV/Internet program Gospel Music Today.

Their recent project "Heaven Is Mine" has been a big hit among their fans as have their other projects. Their albums incorporate those good old gospel songs as well as more current releases making a great collection of gospel music for all ages.

In addition to their own schedule of personal appearances, they also sponsor a quarterly concert series at the First Baptist Church in Grove City, Ohio called "An Evening of Southern Gospel Music". These special concerts feature both Soul Purpose and nationally known groups such as: Southern Sound Quartet, HisSong, Soul'd Out Quartet, Triumphant Quartet, The Dove Brothers Quartet, and The Hoppers.
