All in all, a very respectable and tasteful album...the playing was very good and feeling full, the band was exceptionally solid, and there was a level of professionalism that I rarely hear from a local band I don't know...this was still way better than 90% of the material I receive and there was a lot here for you to be proud of...I think you've got a good band and have done a good job presenting yourselves. Thanks for sharing the good music.

Skip Towne & The Greyhounds sound like they've spent a lotta time on the tour bus - Music guaranteed to rock any roadhouse on the highway.

The band covers broad ground on "Hit The Bricks" by interpreting diverse songs from Albert King's "I Get Evil" with its King-esque lead fills and funky piano accompaniment, down and dirty baritone sax solo, and cool horn lines...to the hip cool version of Willie Nelson's "Nightlife" with its sultry sax and harp solos. The band includes two more original tunes after "Bullet Proof Heart".... "I Ain't Got Nobody" and "I Don't Feel Like Rockin' The Blues". The latter is a big city, mellow tune....with soprano sax and brushes on the drum kit. The constants that carry through "Hit The Bricks" are great sax solos by Tom Trinka cool harp by Peter Quinn, and solid back up from a tight rhythm section. I consider this Chicago band's "Hit The Bricks" to be a good driving-down-the-highway CD.... the kind you can stick in the CD player and cruise up the interstate and never skip a tune

This is an impressive album (Road Works Live)...a fine job...this compares well with better known bands...it makes me want to see the band...these tunes swing...it's what blues needs and often lacks, especially in blues-rock...good solos all around...very tasteful and well done...thanks for some really good music.

Just a note to thank you for the album. It's a good 'un. My favorite track is "TORE DOWN". I've been playing Freddy King's version and also Clapton's version, but I'll play yours also in a future show. I also liked Larry Davis' song "HELP THE POOR" and Willie Nelson's "NIGHTLIFE". Thanks again and good luck with the album...I'll give it a good bit of airplay

Thank you for the Skip Towne CD. I like my blues with a dash of swing, so your CD went down a treat. I'm playing "Boom, Boom...Lights", "Don't Worry Baby" & " I Get Evil

Just wanted to thank you again for playing at our party. It was a huge comfort to not have to worry about "the band" because we knew all the specifics were in such good hands. I cannot even tell you the number of people who said wonderful things about the guys. I have already had several people ask me the name of the band and request your telephone number

Thanks to you for everything. You guys were awesome, and everyone had great things to say about your performance. I will definitely keep your contact info for any future events we do in Chicago. If you guys ever play in Connecticut, let me know!

Blues that the Blues Brothers would like. One hears that this band is very professional and that the musicians have played hundreds of gigs. Their own compositions like "Bulletproof Heart" are good but too few. The conversions are perfectly played as well, like Taj Mahal's "Mailbox Blues". Everyone who likes this kind of music should buy this excellent CD (without any hesitation!)
