About
The Silver Hammer Band formed in Springfield, Missouri, in 2005, when local musicians Mike Henderson and Jim Rea decided to form a band to celebrate the music of The Beatles. As profound fans of the legendary band, the duo wanted to found a group that explores all stages of Beatles’ music in a way that truly reflects The Beatles’ talent, musicianship, and songwriting abilities. To accomplish this great task, Mike (guitarist/vocalist) and Jim (pianist/guitarist/vocalist) recruited drummer Dennis Winkle, bassist Dallas Jones, and vocalist Melissa Henderson. The entire group shares a love for The Beatles, as well as a talent for interpreting The Beatles’ music. The first official gig for the Silver Hammer Band was November 25, 2005, at The Outland in Springfield. Many local gigs have followed, and within a short time, the Silver Hammer Band has established a great reputation in the downtown Springfield music scene, as well as a sizable and ever-growing fan base.
