John is a Grammy Nominated saxophone player who has recorded/ performed around the world with JULIO IGLESIAS, RICKY MARTIN, SANTANA, ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK, GLORIA ESTEFAN, PATTI LABELLE, JON SECADA, KC and THE SUNSHINE BAND, DAVID LEE ROTH, and more. As a solo act, John performs all types of music: Latin Jazz, Flamenco, Chill/World, Smooth Jazz, R&B, Classic Jazz, and more. Urban Gypsy plays an elegant blend of Flamenco, Latin Jazz and World Music, as well performing with guest DJ's who provide high-energy dance rhythms. Within Florida, John plays in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Naples, Orlando, Jacksonville.

Since moving to South Florida from Annapolis, Maryland in 1990, John has been in constant demand for his exciting style and incredible versatility, as well as his warm and refined sound. John has been involved in recordings and live performances with stars from many different musical genres, from Jazz to Pop, and from Salsa-Merengue to Rock.
John has performed around the world with multi-platinum selling artists, such as Julio Iglesias, Gloria Estefan, Carole King, KC and the Sunshine Band, Engelbert Humperdinck, Jon Secada, Dion, David Lee Roth, Patti Labelle, Carlos Santana, Jose Feliciano, Kenny G, and John Legend. Through these experiences, John has developed his own performance style and musical sensibility, having performed for the most discriminating audiences at the world's most famous venues, including Royal Albert Hall, The Kremlin, The Sydney Opera House, The Kravis Center in Palm Beach, The Frank Sinatra Theater, The Roseland Ballroom, as well as some of the hottest Jazz Clubs in New York City.
He has also performed and recorded with renowned Jazz artists, including Nat Adderley, Hiram Bullock (guitarist of Brecker Bros., David Sanborn fame), singer Rosanna Vitro, and Latin Jazz Percussionist, Sammy Figueroa (with whom he has been nominated twice for a Grammy for best Latin Jazz Album, 2006 and 2008).

Live Performance Overview:
Mango's is a six piece, all-star band, with Trumpet, Sax, Guitar/Vocals, Bass, Keyboard, and Drums. Music played includes Frank Sinatra, Al Green, James Brown, Latin Jazz, Swing, Blues, etc, etc, etc...ALL GREAT!!<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
GRILLE 66 performance is as a Solo Sax with own background music. It is a low key, elegant, mostly background music performance, with some higher-energy features as the night progresses. I play a wide variety of styles and musical eras, similar to Mango's, with emphasis on Smooth Jazz.<><><><><><><><><><><><>
Performances with the female vocalist are always well recieved, in part, due to the interaction between the saxophone and vocal, as well as vocal harmony. This set-up is always excellent for concert or dance settings.<><><><><><><><>><><><><><><>
