Greets, all!
I call my little enterprise "Saint Jimi Tributes" because I offer a few options, including Vegas Era Elvis, a Rat Pack style set (including Michael Buble) & also a casual Saint Jimi Sings Hits type of show where I just sit on a stool & knock out some popular songs from years past. Great for Happy Hour!
I offer a full light show, hundreds of instrumental tracks and, with no band to pay, I can offer awesome prices for a top quality show! I have 5 stage outfits including Elvis' famous American Eagle Jumpsuit! Plenty of scarves for the ladies as well!
I've never lost a gig due to pricing & I've always been asked back. I descibe my shows with one word: FUN!

You've finished your dinner. Contemplating dessert & sipping your drink, you glance over & strike up a conversation, possibly a comment about the meal.
After a minute, maybe 2, the lights dim. Then, you hear it:
The unmistakable opening rumble of Also Spake Tharathustra, the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey... and also the opening theme for the original rockstar, the legend of legends, Elvis Presley.
So begins the buzz. The huge orchestral intro jumps seamlessly into the familiar 3 note intro of Elvis Presley. I enter wearing one of 4 replica jumpsuits as the music slides into my opening song, C C Rider. From there, it's on!
Plenty of lights, sound, big vocals, jokes, crowd interaction, scarves for the ladies, handshakes & fistbumps for the guys.
After a set, normally there is a brief pause for a costume change. The lights dim again & another, different intro begins. I enter wearing another replica outfit and the party starts all over again!
50s hits like Jailhouse Rock, 60s hits like Surrender & 70s hits like Suspicious Minds, Sweet Caroline & more! Plus modern dance remixes like A Little Less Conversation!
Finally, as Elvis did, I sing out the night with Can't Help Falling In Love. The big outtro begins. I shake a few hands & leave the stage to the words, "Elvis has left the building. Thank you & goodnight."
Then, if this is like most of my shows, the encore starts. It usually begins with one or two songs. Next thing you know, it's been an hour.
And the party rolls on.
Big Greets, folks!
My name is Jimi. I've been professionally entertaining people all over the midwest and Texas since 1988. I started in a hard rock band back in the mid to late 80's and performed that genre' in numerous bands until 2011, when I started Saint Jimi Tributes. I always thought to properly perform a tribute to Elvis, one would need a full band, orchestra, a small army of backround singers, etc. Then, while vacationing in Memphis, TN, I caught a Tribute Artist who sang solely to instrumental tracks. I was blown away by the quality of the show! I had always wanted to tribute Elvis but had no idea how to without having to hire a full band. I knew if I provided this same service back home, it would take off. After saving enough for a small P.A. and a jumpsuit, I booked my first show in April of 2011. Within 3 months. I had a show booked in Memphis at a place called Dads Place, had a profitable New Years Eve date booked at the Danville (IL) V.F.W. and had established return dates at numerous restaurant/lounges and assisted living facilities. I performed live on local television stations 3 times, added a much larger P.A. and bigger lightshow to handle larger venues and also added 4 more stage outfits to bring my total to 5! I've added more and more quality instrumentals over time and I'm always looking for more. I offer not just classic 1950's, 60's and 70's Elvis songs but also modern remixes, including instrumental tracks from the Las Vegas production Viva Elvis and more recent hits like A Little Less Conversation and Rubberneckin!
One cool fact is I've never lost a show due to price. I've been blessed with venue owners/managers who have worked with me, and vice versa, to find a fair rate and have, at times, renegotiated rates to the benefit of both parties. Only 1 venue hasn't asked me back to perform out of the 20 I have played since starting in 2011. Life has been good for the show and I'm looking forward to bigger and better as I begin anew here in the Houston, Texas area!
Nothing much to add here. My show is pretty simple. I have a 12 can LED light show for the back (these lights I can control with foot pedals if needed, however I can normally provide a light tech), a couple of "specials", some light smoke and front lighting. I hang curtains from the T bars in the back to class it up. I have a Peavy head that has plenty to offer, wedges with 12s and tweeters for smaller setups and for larger venues I have cabinets with a 15, 10 and tweeter in each. I can fit the show into a fairly tight area. Filling a huge stage would be a challenge but I have yet to get a booking where I didn't have enough stage gear.
I DO NOT SCRIMP ON THE LIGHT SHOW FOR ASSISTED LIVING GIGS. The old folks get practically the same show as the bigger venues.
The only rider requests is help with load in/load out (some shows I am on my own), if available and beverages (cheap ones). :)
Setlists can be tweaked on the spot, if needed. No band to pay, no problems with, "Dude, I don't know that song." or "Dude, we haven't done that one in years. Not sure I remember it.". You wanna hear it, and I have it in my collection, you'll hear it.
My sets are designed to give you the feeling like you're back in 1972-'73 and watching THE MAN himself, with little twists and modern wrinkles. Like modern remixes of classic Elvis hits that give those awesome old cuts a modern, club bumpin' flavor!
Some of my favorites and highlights from the setlist include:
2001: A Space Odyssey Intro - CC Rider or That's Alright Mama
Suspicious Minds (studio version, live 70s version or modern remix version to choose from)
Blue Suede Shoes (live 70s version and modern remix version)
Sweet Caroline
My Way
American Trilogy
Jailhouse Rock (original version and 70s live version)
Love Me Tender (70s live version and modern remix version)
Cant Help Falling in Love (70s live version and modern remix version)
You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'
How Great Thou Art
A number of Elvis Christmas Hits and Gospel Hits
More remixes, including the chart topper from 2002, A Little Less Conversation
In The Ghetto (live version)
Polk Salad Annie (live version)
Hound Dog (original version and live versions from '72 and his final concert tour in '77)
Proud Mary... and a whole bunch more!
Super fun sets that concentrate on the hits! FUN TIMES!
Elvis, naturally, was the first. Absolutely wore out Aloha from Hawaii and Live from Madison Square Garden. That lasted until my early teens. Then I heard Def Leppards album High 'n' Dry and AC/DCs Back in Black and alot changed rather quickly. While never abandoning my love for Elvis' music, I dove headfirst into the deep end of the heavy rock pool. Metallica, Pantera, Ozzy, you name it. I sang in rock bands for the next 25 years. Then, upon learning of my childhood obsession with EP, my wife suprised me with a weekend trip to Memphis and Graceland. Upon our return, that obsession was full on again! Since then I have gone full throttle with my Elvis//Rat Pack tributes & haven't looked back!
I'll need a way to get my speakers up off the floor. Tall tables, pool tables, etc. Basically anything to get them up and rockin. That's it. :)
