About

Hello. My name is Peter Paulus and I am the creator of Music Grams in Vancouver BC. I believe live music is the best way to share a message of love and hope with that special someone on their special day. My love for music and the satisfaction I receive from bringing a tear of joy or lifting someone up with my music, is the sole purpose the creation of Music Grams.

Biography

Peter was born and raised in Vancouver BC and began playing music almost 4 decades ago at the age of eight. He started on the accordion, moved to the drums, then transcended to piano and guitar. He still plays all instruments to date.

Peter played drums while his father played accordion and mother played tambourine & melodica. Coming from a background of Viennese music and culture, the family musical group was soon playing private New Years Parties, Birthdays and Anniversaries. Early on in high school he played clarinet in the school band and formed his first Pop Ensemble. At the age of 16, Peter’s band became popular as the lunch hour entertainment favorite and sock hop dance band after school.

It was just a small leap from there to begin his professional career as a drummer in the number one cabaret band in Vancouver, “The Handley Page Group.” The group toured across Canada,
achieving acclaim wherever they played.

Whenever Peter was not touring with the band, he was teaching piano, guitar and drums. He opened music programs in community centers all over the lower mainland of Vancouver and held recitals.

Peter continued to play in many bands of different ethnic backgrounds, singing in English and German. He has played in the Rheinlander Band for over 40 years playing Oktoberfest music every year in cultural centers like The Vancouver Alpin Club, The Austrian Vancouver Club, The Norwegian and Estonian Cultural Centers and many more.

Peter also played in the popular “Night Moves,” a Latin-American & Ballroom Dance Band. In addition, he played with the European favorite, Black Forest Band.

Peter continued to play in many Country Rock & Roll bands throughout his career and currently plays in two popular bands.

He continues to play in the Classic Rock & Roll Band “Right As Rain” for weddings, shuffleboard banquets and special events all over the lower mainland.

To add to this, Peter found a very warm spot in his heart for seniors and began playing in Special Care Home Facilities. He likes bringing joy to those who “don’t get around much anymore.” Lifting their spirits with multicultural favorites, he plays his guitar and sings to them making this activity one of his favorite musical expressions.

Influences

Peter continues to play in many bands of different ethnic backgrounds, singing in English and German. Music Grams Is About Sharing

When you send a music gram to a loved one or that special someone you care a lot about, you are sharing your heart with them in a most unique way. What better way to communicate to that special person than with a song. Sometimes a song can say it all when the heart finds itself tongue-tied.

Music Grams Is About Personal Touch

Personal touch is the window to the heart. When an individual experiences a romantic or favorite song being sung to them live, and in person, something magical occurs in their universe. Add roses, a personalized card, and chocolates and you have a recipe for romance. This is most effective when delivered as a surprise at the location that your special person works or any location they may hang out at.

A Music Gram Is Like A Telgram

The telegram was the principal message system in the eighteen hundreds. It has since been replaced by the telephone and visual media camera (video). However, romantics have always found ways to make their communications personal and a music gram reflects that sentiment through the universal language, a song.

Music Grams Can Reach Across Distant Shores

Now with the help of modern technology, a music gram can reach across distant shores to touch that special person you care about. A favorite tune, sung to that special someone in your life, through the use of the internet, web cam and headset, can bring a tear of joy, or trigger a cherished memory.
