Michael Edwards 56 Chevy Band
"Classic Car Classic Country"
Hometown and Racing Headquarters: West, Texas
Where did the car come from? It belonged to our grandfather Joe, whose old farmhouse is pictured on the album cover. The car had been in a barn for the last 25 years. The old farm place is a Chevy graveyard with old cars similar to the old panel wagon sprinkled all over the Texas landscape. Our dad Ernest is an old school hot rod racer with a black '55 Chevy turned drag car, but he also is a big country music fan.
That's where I, Joey, came up with the idea to cross the two worlds of music with old race cars.
Joey- Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar, Harmonica & Squeeze Box, Vocals and Texas Songwriter.
My grandmother, Mary, was a fiddle player and multi-instrumentalist also. The neighbor's use to sit outside to listen as she played on the porch of that old farmhouse.
So, our musical influences are full of Bob Wills, Charlie Daniels, Johnny Bush and Johnny Gimble, all the great fiddle players. Our parents raised us on all the classics, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings.
Our first song releases, which were recorded at Running Bird Studio and produced by Dick Gimble and at Lone Star Sound by Chip Steele, This Old Whiskey, Blind, Hammerin' Down, Girl From Ft. Worth City, The Unknown, What Would You Do , The Buritto Song, If Teardrops Were Beer, and Honkies In The Honkie Tonk are written by my brother Michael Edwards. Turn Heem' Loose written by Joey Dvorak.
Michael Edwards: Acoustic Guitar, Dobro, Vocals and Texas Songwriter.
He is my younger brother and has decided he is very comfortable on a Texas Stage.
So put on your boots and get ready to follow a true Texas Band with a rich tradition rooted in our Lone Star state. We will play the only two kinds of music that a fiddle player knows Country and Western!
