FIRST, I have 2-3 gigs on most weekends, so if you're interested, please call or email me right away to see if you can get the date and time you want! In a nutshell, here's what we offer: 1) Talented artists who are great with children,2) Bi/Tri-lingual artists that speak English, Spanish and Sign Language,3) FDA approved, safe paints and glitters, 4) Digital/Disposable cameras to take photos of every painting & 5) Great Communication/Coordination prior to the event! I do almost all via email, to avoid confusion and so that both of us have a written record. If you don't have ease of access to a computer, you might ask a friend to be a go-between.

The Merry Heart Face Painting team (1-5 people) is all about making the event more fun for all the attendees! The art is important but not as important as working with the kids! We want the face painting/glitter tattoos to make your event fun and memorable! We recommend 1 artist for every 10-15 children, per hour. So, for an expected party of 20, 1.5-two hours might be best. That's one painting every six minutes (and that includes getting in and out of the chair and any picture taking). We paint with kid-safe paints and products suitable for children aged 3 and up.

You can also, add glitter tattoos to your party! Glitter tattoos are stunning, shimmery designs applied directly to the skin using body adhesive. These tattoos look great for 3-5 days, are completely waterproof, and can be removed with alcohol. We have a great assortment. Great for summer days and pool parties! This requires an additional artist (billable in some cases, for groups of 12 or more) and payment of $50-75 per hour. When you are considering the time you need...please consider that many times we have teens and adults get in the line! :) Sof if you're on a tight budget, you might have to limit to a particular age group!

As for your event, you simply tell me all about your party plans and I'll make a recommendation as to the number of painters needed to make the most of your event. If you're with a charitable organization, ask me about special discounts and ideas to raise funds to cover the expense! When you compare to the price (and time) of providing goodie bags to a whole group...you will find that Face Painting is quite reasonable and will last so much longer than a piece of candy or tiny toy.

We also do our best to take digital (or disposable photos) of our work and post to Facebook so that you can print copies and/or share with your friends and family! If you have a big event planned, but a limited budget, I will customize a "cheat sheet" for the children to choose from, so that we get the most paintings for your dollars!

I have a large network of friends that are clowns, balloonists, party coordinators and more! I will be happy to help you find additional entertainers for your special occasion - at no extra charge - Just Ask! I'll even hook you up on other face painters, if I'm not available! I have a list that I maintain and will email to you. So, let's get the party started! Just contact me with all the details: Date, Time, Location/Venue, Theme, Number of Children invited (faces to be painted) and their ages. I look forward to hearing from you! It's never too early to book your event! We book up quickly!

Once you express an interest, I can email you an invoice to cover the required deposit, which applies to the balance of the quoted amount. It is not an add-on surprise! If you don't want to pay online, you can mail me a check or money order or even meet me in person at a time and place mutually convenient for both of us!

Influences

The ability to paint for free, for my church and daughter's schools over the past 20 years, at fairs and carnivals has been a big influence for me personally. My father is a fantastic landscape artist and has also been a tremendous influence. My Mom also encouraged me to persue my art by taking me shopping and buying me the tools I needed to practice!

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 60 - 480 minutes

There is nothing better than having a child return 30 minutes after their painting, to announce that they have been stopped several times - "even by grownups!" - asking about their face painting! :) This is exactly what happened at the Mansfield Music Festival on October 15th!

Stage/Setup Requirements:
Access to electricity if outdoors, after dark
Access to water (for rinsing brushes and such)
Easy Access to load/unload equipment or assistance from others if quite a distance.

Additional Notes:
Lighting is important, as is covering of some kind if I'm outside. Ideally, I prefer to work indoors, so that wind is not an issue. But, barring wind...I love to work outdoors!
