About
Mark Anthony is a familar face and voice around the state. Mark was at KSAX-TV in Alexandria as the meteorologist from 1999 to 2004. In addition, he was the morning air personality and program director at KULO radio in Alexandria. Did you know that he is a certified stage hypnotist as well. Mark has trained with the best over the years. He was certified through Bill O'Connell, one of the best hypnotists is the country!
Mark got his start in television at KXJB in Fargo, ND back in the early 1990s. He has also done weather in Joplin, MO at KSNF-TV. Over the years Mark has filled-in at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis and done weekends on KS95 in the Twin Cities. His radio career has had stops as well at KMXL in Joplin, MO as the morning personality and operations manager/program director, and at WDAY-FM and KLTA in Fargo. He also spent three years at KZLT and KCNN in Grand Forks, ND.
Mark left KSAX to become chief meteorologist at KDSM in Des Moines, IA and KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, IA. While there, his wife, Tracey, lost both of her parents. One positive thing did come out of the loss, however, in that Mark's brother and Tracey's sister are now married after some matchmaking done by Tracey and Mark. The two are living happily ever after in Brooten on a hobby farm. As a result, Mark and his wife wanted to get back to Minnesota to be near family. His parents still live in Willmar where Mark grew up all of his life. His other siblings are sprinkled around Minnesota in Elbow Lake, Brooten, Fergus Falls, Ramsey, and Wayzata.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University. He also has Bachelor of Science degrees in Print Journalism from Minnesota State University--Moorhead, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Charter Oak State College in Broadcast Communications. He recently finished up his Master's degree in History from American Public University. He is full members of both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He has done graduate work in meteorology from Mississippi State University and the University of Northern Iowa.
Mark has a daughter, Rachel who he is very proud of her accomplishments. He and his wife are happy to be back in Alexandria and look foward to seeing all of you around in the community. In his sparetime, Mark enjoys playing guitar, writing songs, reading, learning new things, and spending time with family.
Influences
My mentor is renowned hypnotist Bill O'Connell. He is the premier authority on stage/comedy hypnotism.
What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 30 - 120 minutes
My show will be fun and can be anywhere from a G rating to a PG-13 rating. I don't have to use profanity to have fun. This show i good for the entire family. I will put my "subjects" under and then have them do wild and crazy stunts or acts! Such as driving a car at NASCAR, racing a horse in the Kentucky Derby, being on a wild ride at Valley Fair, thinking the person next to them "stinks", eating an ice cream cone, thinking that they are naked in front of everyone,and much more!
Stage/Setup Requirements:
I come with my own PA system. All I need is electricity and I am good to go!
