Playing together since 1987, The Love Connection Band has successfully performed at a wide range of venues. Our group plays everything from Motown and Jazz to Gospel and Oldies. We are able to adapt to the specifics for each individual location and event. Whether you choose a particular genre with an open play list or a precise request, we are more than happy to accommodate you with your function.

Sandy love (GUITAR, TRUMPET, VOCALS)
Born and raised in Detroit, Sandy studied music from an early age. He obtained a bachelors degree from Eastern Michigan University and a masters degree from Wayne State University in music education.
Sandy provides private music lessons to children and adults alike. In addition to working as a music educator in the Detroit and Southfield Public School Systems, Sandy taught music for Cranbrook Institute's Horizon Upward Bound program and night school for Mary Grove College in Detroit. Sandy once served as music director and guitarist for "The Miracles" and has performed with many top Motown Acts including Freda Payne, Martha Reeves, Sweet James and The Fantastic Four, The Originals and most of the Funk Brothers. Sandy performed or recorded with James Jamerson Jr bass guitar, Ralph Armstrong bass guitar, Marcus Bellgraves trumpet, Ernie Rogers saxophone, Dennis Coffee guitar, Ron English guitar and many more. He also recorded or performed with the late Uriel Jones drums, Richard "Pistol" Allen drums, Levi Mann organ, Rudy Robinson keyboards, Joe Hunter piano, Johnny Griffith keyboards, Maurice Davis trumpet, Lefty Edwards saxophone, Thomas "Beans" Bowles sax & fulte, Earl Van Dyke keyboards and Robert White guitar known for his famous guitar line on "My Girl" by the Temptations. He also wrote the music for two songs, performed by William "Wee Gee" Howard, one of the former lead singers of the Dramatics; "You've Been A Part Of Me" and "Don't Make Me The Reason".

Lindsey longmire (LEAD VOCALS)
Born and raised in the small town of Vredenburgh Alabama, Lindsey attended the University of South Florida on a music scholarship. With a five octave vocal range, he once sung tenor, baritone and bass with the Talmadge Turner Chorale. Lindsey was invited to join "The Temptations" by the late Melvin Franklin when Eddie Kendricks left the group.

James "jwall" Wallace (DRUMMER)
By the age of 2, James Wallace had already developed a passion for music and a desire to play the drums. Over the years, he has become one of the most sought after drummers in the city of Detroit. He is passionately admired by the crowd which has grown to respect him as an entrepreneur and member of the band. JWALL’s number one supporter has always been his father, Jimmie Wallace. His dad traveled with him to various venues and ensured he would gain the skills and knowledge as he pursued his educational career. James experienced the “Golden Opportunity” of being the first drummer at the Detroit School of Performing Arts. He has also traveled on a 16 day tour to Europe where he visited Austria, France, Switzerland and Germany. As an educator and mentor JWALL has committed his time to training young students and helping them cultivate their skills. He enjoys implementing various programs to allow students to reach their full potential. His rhythms, progressive drumming style and skillful techniques have been vividly displayed in several church services, concerts, plays, musicals and benefits in a variety of venues throughout the United States.

Larry Walton (ELECTRIC BASS)
"Motown" Larry Walton hails from one of Detroit's acclaimed musical families. His father was the legendary "Little Daddy" Walton, who produced several R&B hits in the 1960's and together with his brothers, Larry started performing and recording at an early age in and around Metro Detroit. He was the music director for the acclaimed Jeep Smith Orchestra and he played with Ray Parker Jr., Sylvester Rivers and other top musicians. Larry also worked with some of the legendary "Funk Brothers", John Griffith, Joe Hunter, and Richard "Pistol" Allen.

We are self contained with our own equipment, however we have performed in venues where the light and sound was provided by the venue
