For most little girls, their first memories are those spent with mom. Watching her apply makeup, do her hair and pick out the perfect dress for a hot date-- thinking I can't wait for it to be my turn! For Kristie Marquardt, these memories were manifest into a passion, giving her vision and creating her new career.
As she leaned on the sink, picking up tips from her mother, her favorite phrase was can I have some?! Not knowing her entrepreneurial encouragement, Kristie's mom always let her try at least one feature of makeup-- and voila! From these moments, Kristie became obsessed with creating her own looks and lives for the moments to show others how to look their very best.
Although Kristie was raised in the 90s, she has a vast appreciation for the funky and edgy rock & roll age of the 80s. Her vision includes looks with bright colors and bold statements, recently seen in the internationally acclaimed Rod Sickler's Red Hot Winter Hair Show 2012. Creating looks for formal events and even costume parties, Kristie is inspired by techniques and images of those like David Bowie, Tina Turner and Priscilla Presley-- digging deep and thinking outside of the bag…
…anybody can apply lipgloss or mascara, but not everyone knows how to apply bright eyeshadow or even green eyeliner…
Kristie takes pride in all of her work, and it afforded her the opportunity to be a part of the country's biggest hair show. Being an assistant in the Sickler's Red Hot Winter has increased her knowledge and opportunities. Since, as a freelance makeup artist, her clientele has boosted and resume includes flushing brides to anxious prom queens! Learning from professionals such as Ashleigh Coartney and Alex Reed, Kristie will only get better and better.
Embarking on innovative ways to acquire new faces, Kristie looks forward to designing and creating video tutorials for quick tips and advice. Eventually, Kristie will be showcasing her looks in high end fashion shows using Lashline's own makeup palettes, brushes, lip wear that rocks and bright eye shadows that pop!
