Jasmine Hogan's performance at Wake Forest Baptist Church on Saturday, June 27th was breathtaking. She took us to Sweden and China and melded it all into a captivating, refreshing experience. She brings to the world of music a refreshing, exhilarating breath of spring air.

Jasmine Hogan is an international prize-winning harpist who has performed worldwide both as a soloist and collaboratively with internationally renowned orchestras, opera companies, and chamber musicians. In 2011–12 she presented music and the harp in the context of a cultural exchange as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar to China and was granted a U.S. Fulbright Award to study traditional Chinese music at the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing. In China she played with the National Center for the forming Arts and the China National Opera Orchestra.
Jasmine has already had the opportunity to work with conductors Placido Domingo, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Gustav Meier, and China’s Lu Jia as well as with the conductor Esa Pekka Salonen.
At the USA International Harp Competitions between 2010 and 2013 in Bloomington, Indiana, she premiered five new harp solos as a featured performer on their special Composers’ Forum. Jasmine enjoys working with composers and has made new music a focal point of her musical career. She is the recipient of a 2015-16 Presser Foundation Graduate Award for her proposal to commission a new chamber work for voice, flute and harp.
In May 2014, Jasmine completed a Master’s degree in Performance and Pedagogy at the Peabody Conservatory of Music. In June 2014, she won first place at the Stockholm International Music Competition. Upon graduating she received the James Winship Lewis Endowed Memorial Prize. Jasmine is currently a candidate in Peabody’s Artist Diploma program for exceptional and experienced performers.
Jasmine is a founding member of the Peabody Harp Department’s HarpAdventures program and also on Faculty at the Peabody Preparatory and the Baltimore Symphony’s OrchKids program. She continues a very active and exciting schedule of performing and teaching. In the 2015-16 concert season, Jasmine will be playing with the Baltimore Concert Artists and the Great Noise Ensemble, in Washington, D.C.
