Guitarist Don Sanni performs a wide range of solo, instrumental guitar music especially suited to create an intimate, relaxed atmosphere for wedding ceremonies, receptions, restaurants, parties, and concert settings. Mr. Sanni's repertoire starts with classical guitar music, but performed on a steel string guitar for a slight twist. Don also performs arrangements of pop tunes by the Beatles, Eric Clapton, and Steely Dan, among many others. One unique style of guitar that Don also performs is Celtic music, which was made popular through shows such as Riverdance, Braveheart and The Titanic. Check Don's song list and you'll find an extremely varied collection of music, a little of everything.
I hired Don for a surprise 50th birthday party for my wife. We had both friends and family for a house party of 40-50 people. Don was terrific in several ways. He was very professional in setting up our arrangements. He was very timely and accommodating in his arrival time making sure he was completely set up and ready to go for what was a surprise party. In addition he was very fair and flexible to accommodate us when we asked him to play beyond the time we originally expected to end (as a side note - we asked him to play longer than we originally booked him for because his music was well played, well received, and added a lot to the atmosphere of the party). Don played both as the main entertainment for a period during the evening, and also in the back ground for much of the night. He played both roles well. The best testimony I could give him is that we would hire him again without reservation.

About
Don Sanni is a graduate of The New England Conservatory, with a degree in guitar performance. He has been a full time guitar teacher since 1983, and has played hundreds of shows throughout the Northeast in club bands such as Baker Street, Jet City, Shockwave, and Standing Man. He was the winner of an international guitar competition in 1990, which led to a sponsorship with the Kramer guitar company. Don's playing and composing have been praised in "Guitar" magazine, and he has written lessons for the Mel Bay Publication website, the largest publisher of guitar music in the world. He authored an instructional guitar DVD entitled "Guitar Reality" which was very favorably reviewed in music trade magazines. Currently he performs solo, fingerstyle guitar, traveling throughout New England, New York, and Canada, and is one of the most sought after guitarists for weddings, corporate, and private events. When not performing, Don teaches guitar full-time with upwards of 50 students per week.

What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 30 - 300 minutes
A typical wedding performance might consist of classical guitar music for the ceremony, and pop music for the cocktail hour. In addition to these styles I can also blend in more contemporary guitar music along with traditionals, Celtic, blues, New Age, ragtime, jazz, or even a TV theme, making for a varied set, you won't hear one style all night long. I also enjoy working with wedding couples to select special music for the processional, often meeting with them over the phone, or in person.
Stage/Setup Requirements:
I only need a power outlet, however for outdoor weddings in remote locations I can bring my own remote power.
Additional Notes:
For weddings in which the ceremony and reception are in different locations I like to use two seperate sound systems. I set up each one before the wedding so I can make a quick transition from ceremony to reception. This way I'm playing music during the cocktail hour, not wasting 20 minutes moving equipment around. I can also supply a microphone for the wedding officiant if need be. Generally I always bring two of everything to a performance for back up, just in case of equipment failure.
